(B2: Hiana) Chapter 6

1595 Words
Veronica couldn't stop walking from one side to the other in her apartment. She wasn’t capable of thinking more than the itching under her skin and in the situation with Derek, in recent days she had some strange dreams, sleeping with the men had given her some peace and her body had indeed healed quickly. On the other hand, what she had eaten in the last days, had her in mental and economic chaos, amiss from her normal self. So much that many of her brothers and sisters had wondered about the change. “Ok... I think I understood. I am in a changing phase; I have the possibility of becoming a wolf in the next moon. That will happen tomorrow. s**t! To top it off not in any type, but in a pack Alpha. That last part is not clear for me… I need more information. Is the first change, that should leave me weak and at the bottom of the pack pyramid? According to the novels and stories, I've been reading.” Veronica, pointed to all kinds of books, from folklore to romance novels that were lying on a corner. During those days he had listened again in silence while they explained the changes that were happening to her.  “No baby girl…, the soul that is inside you is all alpha.” Armatos looks sadly at his sister, she knew why, she could die in that process or worst, she could change into a killing machine. f**k! “Now explain to me why every time I open my mouth angry or frustrated, Derek gives me his neck and I have the urgent need to comfort him.” Veronica looks at Derek, he confuses her more than the possible change. “Here I am playing by ear, so I apologize, if the info is not to clear. Derek corrects me. In the first place, you have not been trained as a born she-wolf. You have this energy around you that says to others, down or die. We really are playing it blind and praying you do not miss your sanity. The last time this happens it was long ago. Furthermore, how hierarchy is worked in a pack with a change for us is a mystery. It is not as if we could ask an Alpha, we do not want those eyes in these forests. Not now, by not saying never, continuing on that subject, Derek is a submissive wolf, as it is considered as a low-ranking wolf in the pack, the lowest point of the pack for many and open to a***e, he has to do what the more dominants wolf ask from him. However, according to the texts, they tend to be much more, the bring peace and balance in the violent parts of the pack. These help the pack and he should be protected, but he still wants to protect. But since his mother left him to go in search of his other half, he has been mistreated and beaten by different members… well, for being different.” Seeing that she was going to ask a question, Armatos stopped her with a hand gesture. “Derek is different because he is the son of two different types of paranormal, I had mentioned it to you before. But that night you were still with your mind a little... bouncy... I think it could be said that way, although it sounds strange. The mother was a wolf, but his father is a vampire. As a hybrid, he is heated by a lot of members of the pack.”    “What...? Was the vampire true? I've been watching him, and he has nothing to do with a bloodsucker.” Veronica was nervous at that point.    “Yes, I know, I was also confused the first time. He doesn’t need blood like in the movies and much less can convert others. But he needs a lot of energy to survive. He can eat food and hunt in wolf form, but his livelihood is energy generated by people around him, the more open your emotions are to him, the better. Wolves have always been suspicious of vampires and the results of these unions are often eliminated at birth. Until he came to be with us, those feelings of hatred for what he is had left him... weak... incomplete.” Armatos hugged the man who was smiling like a child, safe and loved. “Well at the end of everything, when I asked for Derek's freedom from his old pack, I promised to create a home for him. What neither imagined, was what it was going to happen when we meet again... I did not know what that meant in the big picture, be the soul mate of a paranormal is a big commitment. It is for the rest of our lives. I did love him, but in the last years he was talking to me less, so I thought it was wishful thinking of my part.” “I want to know how all this started but those details are for another story, it's not here and now. I think that is too much information. Is not like I can understand or accept as true everything you have been saying. At this time tomorrow, after the full moon, we could talk again. Moreover, while the health and the life of my children are good, no problem. Derek will always be welcome as long as the children and their safety are a priority for you two.”  Veronica wanted to know more, but something inside her was moving more at the thought of the a***e Derek receive in his life.  “The problem really is not the safety of our children from Derek. The paranormal is a problem until we can secure the Lycan in the forest. He is one problem in the long term. Especially if the packs outside learn about him.” She nodded and her eyes were fixed on Derek until he paled.  “Derek please explain why you turned pale?”  “I... Alfa, I think that the Laycan is young, possibly a teenager or child.”  “Then...? “I've been walking through the woods looking for him, but still nothing.” Derek opened his eyes to see how Veronica resisted the urge to scream.  “Derek, you put yourself in danger without telling where you were going to be. This cannot continue to happen, you are part of this family and I want to know what is happening, even more, everything that is dangerous should be share.” Derek looked surprised at Armatos who nodded smiling.  “Yes, Alpha.” Veronica looked frightened, but her gaze was set toward the other man that was folded in half laughing out loud.  “Honey, that's one of the reasons why we know that we are confronted with one change. They are trained not to react in front of humans like a pack of wolves. But because you are so new, the... Energy?” Armatos looked at Derek looking for an affirmation, which came with a slight movement of the man's head. “Okay, the energy you are releasing leaves no other option for Derek, everyone suspects the mistreatment he has suffered, so the interaction of both has gone unnoticed, in a misconception that Derek needs a dominatrix.” The face of Veronica and the blush on Derek brought to Armatos again laugh out loud without being able to stop. “Cut it out... is not funny at all... never I have seen myself with clothes of leather and whip in hand. I'm sure that the teenager you deserved to be whip.” Derek began to laugh at the face of the scare of Armatos and Veronica could not avoid accompany him. “That image itself that is not going to leave me for a long time.” Armatos body shiver like he was scare of the possibility.    “I understand what you need to explain. Even though I have my doubts about your sanity and my own, about all this movie. But I think it is better that we let everything take its course. Let's change the subject for a bit... this is better to take it by pieces.” Veronica sigh deeply and smiled at Derek in an attempt to comfort him. “Everything ok with the boys and the homes?” That was a security issue to talk about. “Yes, the established homes are running properly, and both parents and kids had agreed that the life of every kid is worth a little more supervision. On the other hand, I think Hiana social worker is going to be a stone in the shoe.”  “Shit... If he visits or wants to talk with her, it cannot be alone. No need to spoil the good work the twins and Luz are doing.” Veronica had a feeling that there was something else. “Now who is going to sit down with the girl to explain the adoption process to her?” “That's why I like the boss so much... See you later, we have to go home today, but Derek will surely come running at dawn so leaves him the door open.” Veronica was going to comment at respect, but it didn’t work for anything when the man in question was smiling like a teenager at his first love.  “Then I settle that matter with Luz. You disappear with that sense of lovebirds, making those who cannot eat, crazy. Derek remember we need to create the new handbook of procedures for the revision for the past history of the future fathers... and the door will always be open to you.” Veronica smiled and knew she would have to remind Derek about the manual, his mind was lost in the eyes of his loving partner.
