I noticed him walking in to my café. I couldn’t stop myself from staring at him as he walked in. He sees me looking at him and he smiles while waving at me as he takes a seat. He was at Sammy’s area for dinner tonight. But everyone noticed the stranger come in and waving at me. So, everyone had to start asking me question about him. I was getting them from customers and employees alike. I finally told them what I knew about him and that if they wanted to know more about him then they could go introduce themselves and talk to the man. Then I started to laugh as I walked up to him.

“Hey everyone, wants to know about you. They asked me all kinds of questions about you.”

“They did? What was some of the things that you got asked?”

“You know same old same old.”

“When do you get off work tonight?”

“I close tonight. I have to get things ready for in the morning.”

“Ok I will stick around then. I could help you if you want?”

“You don’t have to do that you know. But it would be nice to have someone to talk with.”

“Cool then we could get to know each other better. I would like to help so I will stick around. So, get back to work.”

“Will do sir.”

Well Sammy will take good care of you while you are here for dinner. I must finish up my online orders, so they can be mailed out in the morning. Then it will be time to clean up and get ready to go home. I walked off and went back to work.

Sammy came over and took his order. Dinner time started to come to an end and the staff started to do the end of the night closing duties. I went back over to Adam to let him know he could fallow me back to the office.

“Hey, you can come with me to the back now. That way you can tell me when you get to start moving in your new home.”

“I can’t wait to tell you everything and more about myself.”

“I would love to hear all about you.”

“Then will you have dinner with me? Plus, I have a feeling dinner will be great since it is from you.”

“I would love to have dinner with you. I think it would be great to have dinner with you as well. When would you like to have dinner?”

“When is your next day off?”

“Well its tomorrow but I do have to come in to get the online orders mailed off.”

“Then we could have dinner tomorrow night then.”

“Sounds good.”

The last of my customers left and I was just finishing up with the employees, so they could go. It was my time to close and do the last-minute touches, so I could go. Adam stayed just like he said he would do. He even helped me clean the café, so I would get done a little sooner. I showed him everything I had to do throughout the day and at night when it was my turn to close. I told him I had great employees that would always take turns with each other to give everybody a chance to be with their love ones or to be able to go out at night if they wanted to. He seemed to be interested in my work and the people who worked with me.

“You seem to be well loved by my friends and regular customers.”

“I guess so. I never looked at it that way.”

We finished up the work and locked up.

“You would like to come to my house since you soon will be my neighbor?”

“Do you really want to come?”

“I am sure, I would like to you to come over.”

“Then I will love to join you tonight at your house.”

Then we got in our cars and drove to my house. We got to my house and went inside.

“I am off tomorrow and we could watch some movies or talk.”

“How about we talk first then a movie later.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

I showed him around my home and then I made some coffee for us to drink.

“So, Adam, tell me something about yourself.”

“What do you want to know?”

“Do you have any brothers or sisters?”

“Yes, I have three brothers.”

“Are you guys close?”

“Yes, we are very close.”

“I’m not close to my family. So that must be nice.”

“It can be at times. So, is there anything else you want to know, or would you like to watch a movie now?”

“For now, I guess that is all.”

I let him pick the movie out and we sat on the couch. He reached over and grab my hand to hold it and I let it happen for a few minutes.

I got up and he followed me into the kitchen to fix the coffee. I also grab a few snacks for us to share when the movie started. We started talking again before we watched the movie. I learned a lot about him. He told me so much about his life and yet it still felt like there was more to learn. I even told him a little bit about me. I let him know that I had a few guys that wanted to go out with me, but I did feel that spark with any of them.

“I like cooking and that I took the café over after my mother passed away. Don’t talk to my dad or my brothers anymore and don’t have anything to do with my sister. Didn’t get along with my family. They don’t really respect me any.”

“I’m sorry to hear all that. I wish I could make it all better for you.”

“It’s ok. I don’t mind any more. I know I have great friends to stand by me and someday I will have a man of my own to lean on.”

“That is a good way to look at your life.”

“Tell me about your brothers and when you were younger.”

“There really isn’t much left to tell you. My three brother’s names are Sam, Jake, and Trent. Sam is the oldest then it is me and the other two are younger than me.”

We talked so much before we knew it time just flew by and it was too late to watch a movie. It was two in the morning and it was time for him to go.

“Well you meet me at the café for breakfast?”

“We can’t meet there since it is Sunday and that is the day I am close, so families can be together at church and at home.”

“Can I come pick you up and take you someplace else for breakfast and do something else together?”

“I don’t see a problem with that.”

I found it fun spending time with him. He came and picked me up for breakfast and then we went to a park for a walk. We came back to my house for lunch and he helped me cook lunch.

“I will be finish closing on my house this Monday and then I can start moving in that night. Would you like to go shopping with me for things that I don’t have in storage that will be here in a few days?”

“I would have to look at my schedule and let him know. Depending on the days I can go I would love to help out.”

“That would be great. Just let me know.”

“I will.” Then I walked him to the door and he kissed me goodnight.

“Good morning. What I was doing?”

“I’m check on a few files at the café and to see if I could get a head on some work since I wasn’t sure what time we would be getting together.”

“I will come to you there then. Maybe I could help.”

“Hey Adam, could you hang on I hear something at my front door hear.”

“Can you take the phone with you, so I can make sure you are ok there while you check it out?”

“Sure, you can come with me while I check out the noise. There is a person at my door Adam.”

“Sir we are closed you have to come back in the morning.”

“I need to come in now and get something to eat.”

“Sorry sir we are closed, and you have to come back in the morning.”

Then the man started to bang on the door.

“Adam he is banging on the door and don’t want to leave. I think I am going to have to call the cops and call you back in a minute.”

“No, I will be right there since I am not that far away from you in the hotel by your café.”

“Ok please come quick.”

Next thing I knew the guy left and I didn’t see where he went. Then Adam was at my door and I was relieved. I let him in and he grabs me and looked me over to see if I was ok.

“Adam I’m fine just a little scared.”

He kissed me and gave me a big hug.

“What was that for?”

“That you are safe, and I got here in time. I need to look around to see if the guy is gone. I didn’t see anyone there.”

“Good.”

“What did the man look like?”

“He looked in his late twenties and dirty blond hair. He was wearing dark clothes and that I couldn’t tell what kind of build he was, but that he seems kind of tall.”

Adam was almost for sure that it was one of the hunters but wasn’t positive just yet.

“Okay. Then you will be with me from now on when you are going to work alone at the café. I will make sure you make it home safe from now on.”

I just laughed at him.

“I would be fine it just scared me for a minute because that usually doesn’t happen around here.”

“I will make sure it doesn’t happen again. Kenzie I am starting to care about you very much.” I stood there in shock.

Well I finished up what I was doing, and we locked up the café. He walked me to my car checked it out and made sure it was safe and made sure no one was in the car. Then he said he was going to fallow me home to make sure I was safe and make sure no one was there. True to his word he did just that. He checked all around my house and then came in and checked inside the house to make sure everything was safe for me to be there.

“So now that we are back her would you like to stay here for breakfast?”

“That sounds great. Then what would you like to do after breakfast?”

“We could go do a little shopping for your house today.”

“That sounds like a good idea.”

Then they headed out to do some shopping and spend time together. It started to get late when they drove back to Kenzie’s house.

“Would you just like to stay in my guest room for the night?”

“Are you sure that is what you want?”

“It would be fine. Plus, it is late, and I don’t want to see you drive this late.”

“I would like to stay with you.”

Kenzie blushed, and Adam walks up to her and gave her a soft kiss across her lips.
