The man... this strange Alpha remained silent behind me.
He didn't tighten his hold or seize the opportunity I'd just handed him. He simply held me while I trembled in the darkness.
For the first time tonight, I found myself wondering what expression lay hidden beneath the shadows.
Was he surprised? Confused? Disgusted?
When he finally spoke, his voice was low, careful... almost reluctant.
