Outside the packhouse and stretching out to forest edge battle waged on. Whether it be wolves fighting wolves or those in human form fighting with whatever they could grab with such notice. Fur and flesh riddled the ground as the skies above answered the call of war with a thunderous boom. The darkening clouds roared above the scene before letting the dams burst.
Rain poured down upon the battlefield as lightning struck the ground. Roars of the injured and fallen built the tension in the air; while the thunder roared the battle on. This was to be no ordinary battle but a beginning to a gruesome war.
A dance with death itself. That's what this was as nature and beast roared carrying only destruction in their wake. Louder and louder the battle of the beast and thunderous booms of the storm; fighting with each other to see who should come out on top.
Kiora p.o.v
Rushing through the silent halls to reach the clearing my heart clenched as the images of parents and packs death came to me in waves.
Please, not again! I can't go through that again!
Fearing the worst, I starting running dreading what I might find. Zander had gone ahead to back up whatever warriors were there fighting. Now, I was wishing I had asked him to stay with me. Shaking my head, I chased the thought from my mind.
No, we made the right decision. He has a duty to adhere to as Alpha and the same goes for me, the Luna. Yes, I am this pack's Luna now and I shall protect it.
All of a sudden, I was standing outside frozen in my tracks as the battle scene rendered into view. I was six again watching my world come crashing down around me. Bodies of wolves and human as well as those mid-shift were strewn across the field. I wanted nothing more than to turn and run, for it to all just go away. Wanting and wishing did nothing I was glued to the scene that played out before my eyes.
I hadn't even noticed I was shaking until Zander came racing to check on me only to shift into wolf form pouncing on the rogue about to attack me.
Hey, I know you're scared, but you need to stay alert, babe. I love you. He quickly mind-linked me.
Nodding to him I quickly shook myself out of my stupor and launched into battle. No longer was I that scared little girl running for her life; No, I am facing this demon head-on and defending what I care about.
My fear was slowly replaced by anger and rage as I ripped into rogue after rogue. I wasn’t just defending my pack anymore I was craving my revenge from a life that as stollen from me BY ROGUES.
Wiping around I was gutting slashing and slicing any rogue that came within five feet of me. My heart racing and blood boiling as twisted my way through the battlefield. I was on a mission to kill every last one of them.
Flinging myself at yet another of the rogue wolves I latched onto its’ neck and bit down. Breathing in the scent of the blood coming off the rogue I had just killed; I realized I was enjoying this way too much. Knowing that scared me more than anything else. This needed to end and end quickly I thought as my eyes quickly scanned what was left of the rogues. Only a handful remained zander and another warrior had them cornered. They were slowly herding them off the pack territory.
Wanting to show my support for my new pack I quickly joined the group exiling the trespassing wolves. Snarling and growling along with the others we pushed them back to the border. Finally, they were backing off all except for one that is. Mudd and blood from the battle made it impossible for us to even tell what colour fur he had. Fighting the urge to pounce and claim yet another rogue's life a watched as the wolf before us shifted. Naked and uncaring he lifted his head and laughed.
“Ah, I see we meet again, Little Kiora. I see you have done well for yourself.” the rogue mocked, “too bad it won't last. well, at least you’ll be with mommy and daddy soon.’’
His words had me reeling and my mind spinning trying to place where I knew that voice and scent from. Looking to ask how he knew me I realized he already slipped back into the woods.
With the battle over we ran back to the packhouse to see what the extent of the damage was. All the while having rogues' words echoing in my head, we meet again little Kiora.
