“Are you coming to bed now?”
“No, not just yet, my dear. I did a lot of writing over the weekend, but the hotel’s Internet was not so good, so my email and book advertising is all kaput. I need to get that train rolling again and I’m hoping that there will be a few from the UK regarding my little problem over there. I’m afraid it’ll all take a few hours, so I won’t be able to join you until midnight or even one. You go ahead, I’ll join you as soon as I can.
“Faan dee, sweetheart, sweet dreams.”
Checking his email was laborious, especially so because he didn’t really expect to hear from any of the banks yet. He was right, but there were several ‘out of office’ messages, so at least he knew that those emails had arrived. The depressing part was that most of them said that it
