Chapter 23: Reasons why~

“So are you saying that the culprit is present here?” Lorente ask the woman in front of him, giving him some clue or just blubbering he does not care, he just needs to know who the person is delivered the foods.

“I am not saying that the culprit is here, but giving you wider speculations and more suspect so you can investigate further more than you have now,” The woman says it confident again.

“Why are you talking like you know more than us, we are officer in charge of more than three cases and we know what we’re doing.” Cornel on the other said can’t help but to speak.

The woman on the side smirk, “are you really sure that you really know what you doing right now? You guys are focusing to the person who delivers the foods but we have rules that the deliveryman can’t open the box he will deliver,” the woman said and smirks.

“So do you want us to investigate your entire employee right now?”Lorente can’t help but to question the woman, but the woman just nodded.

“Yes, it’s unfair that you will only investigate the last person who has interaction to the foods but we have more primary suspect to begin with. So what if someone will die, you will only investigate the people who she or he with on their last breath?” Now, the woman can’t help but to argue with the officers.

But for Cornel and Lorente, it makes sense to them. They can’t focus to just people who have last interaction with the victims.

“Then if you will let us interview and investigate your employees then we will conduct one for further investigation and so we can’t know who is the real culprit who’s poison the person in the cell.

“You can interview them at 5 pm; I can close the shop for the investigation. Btw, I will give you all their personal information especially the delivery man but let me know all the result so I can know who the dangerous one is.” She said with the smile plastered to her face.

The two officers can’t do anything but to agree to what the woman suggested, they wait till the shift of the employees finish and the clock stop at 5 pm.

The employees look confused even the delivery boy can’t hide the curiosity in his face. They all look want to ask what is going on but no one have the courage to do it.

“So well, we are from xxx police and we are here to interview you. Oh, by the way can we have all the CCTV footage this day start before you open the restaurant?” Lorente ask the woman who immediately said yes. “Okay, now we will start the interview.”

One of the employees finally asks, “But first sir what is going on? Why do you need to interview us right now, did we do something wrong or someone reported us?”

Lorente smile gently, “well the reason why I will interview you guys individually because the foods he deliver to us is poisoned and someone die on the spot, we originally only talk to him but the circumstances said that we also should talk to you and hear your side.”

“But, Sir I don’t know anything about that. I only am preparing the bags and boxes for the foods for deliver.” The girl on the side looks so nervous.

“But what if you put the poison in the boxes? But if you really innocent all you have to do is tell us the truth because once you lie and we know the truth then even if you are innocent, you will become a suspicious person.” Lorente said.

The girl on the right side raised her hand, “then I will let you interview me first.” She said and looks confident that she is innocent.

“Okay, then.” Lorente grab his small notebook on his pocket and his black ball pen, “what are you that time we order some foods?” he start to question her.

“I was the one who clean the vegetables and chop it if I am the one who poison the person who died earlier then it must not only him but all the people who eat the vegetables I slices and chop.” She said, Lorente can’t help to be amused by what the woman.

“Lorente write all the words the woman said.

“Then we will see it on the CCTV records that you saying the truth.” Now Lorente is looking to another employee, she looks calmer than the others. “How about you, what did you do that time?”

“Well, I am the one who cooks the foods that day, but like what she said if we do the poison thing like you are saying then all the people who eat that day must affected.” She said and sighs, “It is really not me who put poison on the food, I have no reason to do that.”

“Yes, you must right. People will do something bad to other have a reason.” Lorente said and take note again. “How about you, what did you do?” He asks the man in the middle.

“I’m the one who prepare the foods for delivery, well I did not do it also you can see it on the CCTV. I do my job cleanly; I have no reason also to poison someone because all I need is to have money for my family.”

They all have no reason, is that true?

Lorente can’t help but to ask himself.

Now, only the rider will be interview.

“So, you will say that is not you right?” Lorente did not ask him, he let himself to talk.

The man nodded, “yes, I will also answer I did not do it. Are you going to trust my words or our words? First of all, why are you doing this interview if you will still investigate it and still suspecting is who said we did not do it.”

All the people inside the room were shock.

“So why are you still interviewing us?” The boy asks with serious tone.
