Chapter 13: Ashley~

Kiro’s POV

It took almost a few hours to take the possible evidence in the case; they also took photo in every corner of the crime scene. As for us, we just watch them and their every move.

We still don’t know who will ask for help in forensic team to help us to know the result if someone will point out who is the culprit. The only scary thing is that maybe even those on the forensic team along are with those behind the crimes and they will hide the truth.

“Now tell me dude, who do you think will help us?” Cornel whisper to me as the forensic team is already packing their things and ready to leave the crime scene.

“I still don’t know, aren't you really close to even one of those?” I asked, maybe they will give us the right result if they find a lead at the crime scene because otherwise we really have no hope of solving the case.

“"No, you know I'm not close to other departments because for them we are arrogant people.” He answered and sighed.

We just bowed at the same time in despair of getting an ally in the laboratory. In all the cases we’ve handled, this is the only one we have no clue as if many are helping to hide the truth. Just one mistake really of the culprit, I won’t waste that to find him to the end and the cases will solve and I will get promoted with Cornel.

“What are we going to do now? Just stare at it and do nothing?” Cornel said that he really wants to solve the case and wants to go home with his wife and child even if only for a few days.

“I also don’t know, maybe let just interview some of her friends.” I stand up and approach the department president who helps the school director, always! “Excuse me?” I said.

“Hmm…Yes, what can I do for you Mr. Lorente?” He politely asks and warmly smile at me.

“Well, you see. We investigating the crime and we need some of his friends’ information, can you tell them to come here or somewhere we can conduct the interview?”

It stopped for a moment but immediately nodded, "sure Sir, I have the list of their name and contract already. Can we go at least in my office so the surrounding will be more quiet and comfortable with you and to them?" Then he signs his hand to the way to his office.

I looked at Cornel and he nodded, we followed Mr. Student President until we reach his office, it’s not wide or tiny just enough for at least 5-8 persons to hold a meeting. He signs us to sit so we did sit on the soft brown couch on the side and wait for the students who are close to the victim.

It’s been 20 minutes after when finally they arrive at the office, I was shock when I them all. Most of them are also Christian’s friends! I feel chills in my whole body.

What is going on here? So the second and third victims are connected, but how?

"Come inside guys and sit here, Mr. Lorente just want to interview you about Ashley, as you can already know she died last night base on what they said earlier on the crime scene. Don’t be nervous guys.” The guy tried to calm his fellow students but as I can see, they still nervous.

“You don’t need to be nervous guys as long as you’re innocent about this case; I am Mr. Lorente police officer from xxx division and this is my partner Cornel. We will just ask you guys some information about your friend.”

I see how they change glance to each other.

“I..I don’t really know about that, we barely talk to each other yesterday.” One of them finally speak.

“Do you have any evidence that you are with someone yesterday until midnight?” I ask.

“Do I still provide something like that? I can’t do it, I can see how horrible it and I want to vomit every time I----I” The words she about to say cut as she run toward to the bathroom.

Some of them look like will vomit too. But I can’t blame these students at all.

“W-we are same subjects yesterday so we are together the whole day but our room is different so I’m not with her at night.” Again, someone finally speak too.

“Do you have evidence that you already in your room that time until midnight?” I ask again.

“Yes, she is my roommate.” She points her finger to someone in her friends.

“Yes, we are roommates and we are in our room at 9 pm until midnight and morning.” The other girl said.

“Then can you both provide evidence about that? You two are roommates so what if you guys went out in your room and do something?” I said without hesitation. They all look shock to what I said.

“Are you telling that we killed our friends?! How can you say that Mr. Police officer?” She raises her voice. Her friends try to calm her but I just smirk.

“I just making speculation here, as police I need to see all the side that can be connected to the crime so if you can provide then you both are innocent.” I smile.

“We have CCTV camera inside the room, you can check that.” She said and and sighed.

“Good then. How about you guys?” I shifted to the other two.

“Well, I am her boyfriend but we have a fight 2 days ago because she wants to rent a house for the two of us but I did not agree. After that we still did not talk at all and I was shock about the news. If I know this will happen I should just agree to her, if maybe I agree then this will never happen.” The guy said with low tone of voice, he really look sad and disappointed in his self.

“So, you guys fight two days ago yet not talking to each other at all? You did not say sorry to her?” I curiously ask.

“I did, but she always avoids me. If I know that will happen to her I should not let her angry to me.” The guilt plastered in his face.

“Okay, then where are you yesterday night?” I ask again.

“I at my mother house, you can check the CCTV camera in our front gate and you will see I did not leave the house.” I just nodded while Cornel takes down what they said.

“How about you, what is your connection with her?” The last woman is not ready to talk yet. “Don’t nervous, come here and tell you story or connection about Ashley.”

“I am her roommate; I didn’t do anything to her but something always bothering me.” She said. “She always is shouting in her dream.”

“What she said every night?”

“I can’t remember but it is a name of a woman.”
