1653 Words
(August 09, 2021) First day of school for college students, new faces greeted William, who had just gotten out of the car; there was no pressure on him because he was already familiar with the place because he also studied there from junior and senior high.   Suddenly someone tapped him on the shoulder, "Hey! It's good to see you even though there are so many students who are new here." smile said the man who had just arrived as well. This is one of the circles of friends that William can call, since high school they have been together.   "Yeah, and there are new women who definitely can't escape the womanizer, Felix." William said jokingly and laughed.   The man didn't waste any time defend himself and just shrugged. "Well, what can I do? I'm so handsome that no one hates me. Am I right?" It even winked at William.   "Don't joke about something not fun, Felix, sometimes you need to shut up." Shuddered William said to his friend.   Felix was about to speak when a loud shout from a student grabbed everyone's attention.   "Help, Help! Someone help him!" Screamed by the woman, her body was trembled in front of a bloody body of the man that fell from the 4th floor window.   The students started making noise around because of the sudden incident. Some were terrified while others were able to take a picture of the bloody man who had almost broken some part of his body.   William and Felix would have had no intention to join the crowd if they had not heard the name of the person who had the accident.   "Did Troy fall on the 4th floor?" Asked by the woman on their side, "did he commit suicide?"   "Hush! What are you talking about, why would Troy commit suicide? There's no reason for someone like him to do something like that." The person the girl was talked answered.   "Are you saying someone killed him or pushed him to the 4th floor?" The first woman asked again in shocked but the person next to her immediately pinched her.   "Can you just shut up? We’ll get into trouble in that mouth of yours, just come to the side!" The other girl hissed and pulled her friend away.   The two men quickly huddled in the group of students because of what they heard.   "Please, excuse us. Please let us pass." The two repeated that until they came to the front and saw his friend Ericka shakes all over and cried.   William and Felix quickly ran to the woman and hugged her, not a single one wanted to approach Ericka, and they understood them because of her attitude   "Hush, Ericka, it is okay. Please stop to cry." Felix said that as he caressed the girl's back. But instead to stop, she cried even more.   ‘It’s my entire fault! It’s my fault why he committed suicide! ”She said and cried again.   The surroundings became even louder because of what the girl said.   "Oh my God, did you hear it? It's her fault, she said!" Someone from the crowd murmured.   "Maybe she let other men to touch her or maybe he made them move at the same time." Other one from the crowd spoke.   William clenched his fist at the whispers around and took a deep breath before look at them wickedly, "if you can't say anything well why don't you just leave here there's nothing you can do to help." William said seriously. There were some who agreed with William and there were those who angrily left.   A few minutes later, the police arrived, followed by an ambulance to pick up the man's body and take it to the morgue.   A 30 -year -old man got out of the police car, his body straight as he walked to where they are to ask for testimony.   "Good morning to all of you." Police greet them.   "Good morning, Mr. Officer." William replied.   "I'm Kiro Lorente, can I talk to who first saw the incident?" He asked calmly.   Felix looked at Ericka who was still crying because of the incident.   "It's okay, Officer but we don't know if it's okay for Ericka to say everything that happened." Felix replied worried for their friend.   "I will give a statement about the accident." Stuttering Ericka said and approached the officer.   "Is it okay if we sit there while we talk?" The officer asked again so the three nodded.   At once they walked over to a table with chairs under a tree. The officer set down the small notebook he was carrying on the table and took the black ballpen out of his pocket.   "Can I know where you were before the incident happened?" Officer Kiro asked them.   "I just arrived when the crime happened, so did Felix because we were talking when we heard our friend scream." William explained that the man quickly wrote that in a small notebook.   "How about you, Ms. Ericka? Where were you before the incident happened?" Now he was looking at the woman.   "I just arrived when I received a message from my boyfriend that we would meet on the 4th floor of building 23, I was about to enter the building when he sent me another message that I looked out the window opposite where I was standing, I thought there was I'll surprise him because it's the first day of school and we're always together again but I can see his body falling out of the window. " Again the woman couldn't help but cry, "it's all my fault, if I had come in earlier and ignored her second message she wouldn't have fallen." Crying crying it says.   "Home, you're not to blame for what happened Ericka." William said that but the girl violently shook her head.   "It's my fault! I know he's not the one sending the message but I still made the written message!" Its shout caused the officer in front of them to frown.   "What do you mean you know he wasn't the one sending you the message those times?" The officer asked.   "I know he typed a message to me, even if the culprit imitated his typing, he missed something. His text always has a secret message at the end that means I love you." She said and smiled bitterly.   "Did you mean that someone killed your boyfriend?" The officer asked the girl.   "I'm sure, Troy has no reason to commit suicide. We've already talked about our plans for the next few years, his grades will also be high, Troy also has no problem with his family and they are rich. He doesn't even have a single reason. to kill himself! " Ericka's answer to the officer was firm.   The man nodded and wrote again in the little notebook, everything the woman said it didn’t miss and wrote down.   "Right now that's from what I'm going to ask you, we'll contact you if there's progress in the investigation and if we need to ask you anything else." He handed the small notebook to William, "write your name and contact details there." Order by the Officer.   William quickly followed and wrote the information of the three in a notebook and returned it to the man.   The officer thanked and said goodbye.   Even though there was a crime, it didn't seem to be an obstacle to continue the class; Felix didn't know how they should feel because their friend had died.   "Mr. Hilton, Mr. Andres and Ms. Rivera when the officer has finished talking to you, he calls you to the teacher's office." That said a member of the University Council.   They just nodded and started following the fellow student into the teacher’s office.   When they got there the professor’s faces could hardly be painted, they didn’t know what to say first or ask them.   "The officer assigned to the investigation has already asked us." William was the first to speak when he noticed that it was difficult for professors to ask questions.   "We've also called Troy's family and they're on their way to the morgue where their son was taken, condolences." A professor said that from Junior and Senior and it has already seen how deep their friendship is.   The professors spoke one after another to say that they sympathized with what happened, but that was not enough for Ericka, it was not enough for them to alleviate their feelings of sadness and anger.   Who exactly would commit the first crime on the first day of class that really shocked them.   "We're leaving." They say goodbye to the Professors, what can a lot of condolences do? Even if they put that together, their friend's life could not be restored.   "I'll call Tita to find out where they are." Felix said and took the cellphone out of his pocket. He called their friend's Mother's number several times but no one answered. "Tita doesn't answer my call, maybe when you call she'll answer." He suggested.   Ericka did nothing but take her cellphone out of her pocket, "Oh my God, my phone is hanged." Confused she says her boyfriend’s number appeared on the screen. The girl tries to end it but her cellphone really doesn't want to be touched.   "Argh! Why now?" Annoyed the woman said but William quickly covered her mouth and told them not to make any noise.   That’s exactly what the two did, and in that moment they heard a familiar ring tone louder.   Ericka's hands trembled the more she heard the ring tone of her boyfriend Troy's cellphone, it was nothing like it because she herself sang the man's ring tone.   Slowly the girl walked closer to where the sound was coming from, even though her mouth was shaking and tears were rolling down her cheeks, she kept opening the door and she was so shocked by what she saw and shouted very loudly at the hall.
