Kiro’s POV
My companion was asleep while I was still watching the video, but no matter how many times I watch it all from the beginning I find nothing strange. Apart from the students in the dormitory coming in and out nothing can point the culprit at all!
I yawn, it’s already 2 am but I still can’t stop to watch the video. This is the only thing that can help me to the case but something is off. It was so easy for me to get it and I didn't even have to talk to the school director. Did they plan it in the first place?
But how can they do it in the short time?
Deceive the police officer is too much! How can they do this to us when we trying to help to know who is the culprit for all the crime happening to their University.
Annoyed I dropped the headphones on the table. It seems vague that we will actually finish this case soon as possible if even those who work at the school are torturing us to have a clue!
“What is your problem dude, did you see something?” Cornel asks, drowsiness was still obvious in his eyes, he just woke up because of the noise I made.
“Still nothing and even I watch it till morning, we will have no clue at all because this video is edited!” I’m so frustrate. “That's why no matter how much I wake up, I don't see any clue because I will really don't see anything in the first place. The guards there tricked us.” I said angrily.
“What? How did you know about that?” Cornel's was shock to what I said. Even maybe whoever hears then will be shocked who hope that we will get a lead in the case.
“You can see at around 10 o'clock that Christian's friends have left and he is still with them. At the same time, other students were carrying towels to take a bath in the school's public bathroom but after Christian returned to his room, no one came back but when morning came, the students with towels were seen coming out of the dormitory last night.” I explain, “That means something is missing in the video but the time is still right. They just forget about those kids who take shower!” I exclaims.
“Woah, you been tell that there is something missing although the time is perfectly edited. This is not the right time to bewitch by how you good at it but bro you gave me goosebumps!”
He moved the chair next to me and we once again watched the video where Christian and his friends can be seen coming out of the dormitory followed by other students carrying towels. Just a few minutes later the young man returned alone. Until the next few hours passed and it was morning but no students took a bath return.
But at around seven thirty in the morning, they can be seen coming out of the dormitory to go in their respective classes.
“They actually edited the video and manipulated the time so that there was no fuss. Wow, they didn't do it lightly; they really did it to fool us right away. If you don’t pay attention to every detail you will definitely think that there is nothing wrong with it.” Cornel said while shaking his head in disbelief.
“That is why I feel so frustrated right now. They act like willing to help us to solve the case but in reality they take us even further away from the truth.” I am so disappointed about this. “Sad to say, no one will help us about the case but only the two of us will work together to know the truth. Trust no one in the University, not the students, professors, janitors, guards! All of them.”
“You're right there, for now let's investigate quietly and not let the professors know everything we know, especially the school Director.” Cornel agreed with me. “But what do we do when they ask again about the case or even the head officer?”
“Let’s lie like how they lie to us. Take them away from the truth too.” I said. “If this a game, then let’s play what they started.”
I know I will not be able to keep everything secret from the head officer for a long time but if we hurry to find the culprits of the case we will surely be able to solve the case without him knowing that we are lying.
“Now, let’s take at least a short nap. It’s already 3 in the morning.” I said and stood up. I lay in the sofa, maybe because I am too tired gradually darkness pulls me immediately.
++++
A loud ring of the telephone wakes me up. It’s only 7:43 in the morning yet there is already someone calling us.
“Hello, this is xxx division police office how can we help you?” I said with husky voice.
“Is this Mr. Kiro Lorente, something bad happened again here in the University can you go here?” The person on the other side said.
I was silent for a moment because of what I heard; I did not immediately process in my mind what I heard. “O-okay we will go there.” I just answer and hang up the call.
I immediately walk toward Cornel and wake him up.
“F*ck dude, wake up we will go to the University now.”
“W-what time is it? It is too early for investigation dude give me more time to sleep.” He answer but I pull him out on the bed.
“Get up, someone died again and it surely not suicide!” I shout make him to open his eyes.
“What, someone died again?”
We hurried out of the office, even before putting on new clothes we immediately got in the car and went to the University. We immediately went straight to where the text message sent to us by the school Director.
Only a few were there to gossip about what had happened, unlike the first two incidents where almost everyone nearby was huddled together.
“What happening here?” I ask.
“Finally you are here officer. The Janitor who scheduled to clean this gym was shock to see the blood. He followed it until he saw the body of a student lying lifeless.” The professor explains.
I walked closer to where the body he was talking about was and my I want to vomit to what I saw.
The blood spread next to the woman's body; there were also some ants on her body, now it can no longer be said that it was just a suicide or a nightmare because it was obviously someone kill her.
A few moments later, forensic teams also arrived to take items that could be fingerprinted or anything that could leads who is the culprits among the people inside the university.
I just held on to my own neck, I was so stressed.
What are we going to do now? What if even forensic teams don't share the result to us?” Cornel asked worriedly.
"Don't worry; we'll work out a way to find out the result." I said and watch the forensic team while doing their job.
