Chapter 20: Secrets!

Kiro’s POV

I was stun to her description of the bottle of poison she uses to Felix, a white bottle like sleeping pills? As far I remember, Ashley’s boyfriend carry something similar to what the woman describe.

But he said it wasn't his but it belonged to one of his classmates, which student would take their sleeping pills in class? Why all the evidence point someone to another, is this evidence really true or they want to lose me on track?

Everything that happening right now doesn’t make sense, why they put someone to kill one of their targets if they really want to kill the guy they should poison it themselves but why? Why did they let a canteen seller do it?

“Can you give us the number they used to contact you that time?” I ask, the woman immediately scroll her message and give her phone to me. I can still read her conversation with the culprit but when I try to call and track the number it’s now non-existing number.

I clasped my hand, those bastards playing with me again. They deliberately give a clue to me, they wants me to chase them until they proves to me that I can’t find them.

“I'm sorry but we still need to imprison you, you are involved in poisoning their friend even if you say that someone just ordered you, you are one of the accomplices.” I said, Cornel support the woman back inside the cell, now I will talk this two person in front of me.

“Do you believe that someone just ordered her to poison our friend? Wow! I can’t believe you officer, she even doesn’t know if the text message is just spam or not, who will take it seriously even the message said they will give her money as reward!” I can see how she’s angry, but is it true?

Is this two people are really innocent?

“How’s your friend in the hospital? Did he gain consciousness?” I change the topic, I don’t want to answer her question, I can’t trust them either.

The woman just ignore me, reason for the other guy says sorry to me, “Sorry, officer she was really shock because of what happened in the canteen we don’t know what will react, even someone will be shock right if their friend suddenly collapsed and poisoned.” The guy explains for his friend.

Well, I can understand her because she also sees how his boyfriend died not long ago but I can’t feel any pity for her, I don’t know.

“I understand but don’t worry, because we will investigate this furthermore, but we can’t promise that we can disclose the information to you guys. By the way, can I ask something?” I ask.

I can see the tension in their eyes, why?

“S-sure Mr. Lorente.” The guy answer me.

Would it be right for me to ask them now even without one of their friends? But it doesn't make any difference whether they are complete or not, I'll just ask them what the connection is to the dead other than Troy.

I clear my throat, “I talked to some people about Ashley's case and I found out something interesting about you guys, one of them said that you guys used to be friends with people who died but just break the friendship. Is that true?” I looked at them both; they looked at each other not knowing who would answer first as if they were afraid they might answer differently.

“Yes, we used to be friends but we often disagreed on things so we just chose to break the group and find new friends. Only the three of us were left together while the others found others.”

I nodded, "then you're not really talking anymore until the incident happens?" The two of them nod.

“Yes, we haven't talked since our group broke up, when Troy died they didn't even ask about it, they really forget anything about our friendship back then.” I could see the sadness that went through the face of the woman I was talking to. I think it was one of the friends who left who had the resentment and not the ones in front of me.

“Can you tell me if your group had a strong fight before?” If they had quarreled then there was a strong reason for someone to take revenge on them.

“Nothing, we just don't get along, for example, there are love to eat in expensive restaurant, there are so choosy, there are people who like to wander, it's just simple disagreements but we don’t reach the stage where we hurt each other physically." Again he explains.

I wrote it all down on the paper I was holding, if they hadn’t beaten each other, and then maybe they beat someone that now taking revenge.

But I should not ask that to them, I am sure they will just said that none, they not hurt someone. If they hurt someone, they will keep it a secret, but if they hurt someone, why is revenge is kill them one by one?

Is their sin against that person so bad that he kills them and not be afraid because at school they kill them one by one? Whoever commits the crime every day is brave, he was not afraid to get caught.

"Don't you remember that you've fought before that they can revenge that to your old friends? For example with Troy who can push him on the window or with Christian or Ashley.”I hesitated to ask questions but they just shook their heads.

"We don't remember anything, because we didn't do anything silly back then." The man said seriously, but it was obvious in his eyes that something was hiding.

Whatever secret you do, I will find the answer in this case.
