The sound of her bedside alarm going off beside her cause Sarah to wake up from her sleep. She stretched her hands from the cover and turned it off, in the hope of catching a little more sleep. "Sarah, honey! You're gonna be late for school. Get your ass off the bed and go get ready, it's seven in the morning already," Her mum said as she made her way into her room drawing the blindfolds on the window. The prospect of Sarah enjoying her sleep for a little more while flew out of the open window as she flung the covers away and got up. Stepping into the bathroom she got down to preparing herself for school in the fastest way possible. Sarah McKenzie attended Winston High, and she would be graduating in three months' while also turning eighteen by then. She was the only child her parents had. Although they tried getting another after her, luck wasn't on their side as her dad passed away when she was just 13 years old. All hopes of having another child by her mum went down the drain after the demise of her dad. The sound of Clara's car horn outside of Sarah's house caused Sarah to hasten up her preparation for school. Clara was Sarah's best friend and Sarah was supposed to get a ride from her to school since she doesn't have her license yet. Clara just got her license two weeks back when she turned eighteen and offered in taking Sarah to school every day until she is able to get hers. Clara blared her car horn continuously in other to make Sarah hurry up. "Come on, Sarah. We're going to be late for school if you don't get your ass down here!" She yelled from the car. "I'm coming, just give me a minute," Sarah yelled back as she hurried downstairs and collected the sandwich her mum just made for her. Taking a can of drink from the refrigerator, she hurried towards the door with her backpack before Clara blows the whole neighbourhood off by the sound of her horn. "Hey, honey! Don't choke on your food and make sure you're attentive in classes," Her mum called after her as she made her way over the lawn towards Clara. "Yes, Mum!" She yelled back and got into the car. Clara waited for her to put on her seat belt and accelerated towards school. Winston High was not a school that you would want to turn up late. Latecomers are highly dealt with and Principal Donovan was not a man to be joked with. ******* They got to school some few minutes after eight. Clara parked the car at the school parking lot, and they made their way quickly towards class. They were stunned to find the whole school gathered at the notice board and began wondering what was going on. "Um... Sarah are you sure we are in the right school? What do you think is going on?" Clara asked Sarah while turning towards her but only to find her staring outside at the school gate, where two vehicles were parked. Apparently, the cops were in school, and they were talking with Principal Donovan. "I have no idea what's going on. Why don't we ask Brittany over there? After all, she is the school gossip and would probably know what's going on," Sarah replied as she diverted her attention back to Clara. "Hey! Brittany! Over here," Clara called out. Brittany turned towards them and made her way towards the duo. "Hey, Clara, Sarah!" She said as she reached them. "Have any idea on what's going on?" Clara asked her when she approached them. Hearing about gossip, she got all giddy and was ready to analyze whatever was happening in school to them. "So, I guess you guys haven't heard what's going on since obviously, you guys came late to school. Lisa McAllister who has been missing for two weeks was found dead this morning in the woods," She told them. "What, Lisa McAllister?" Clara asked in shock. "Yes, girl. The one and only Lisa except you know someone else bearing that name," She replied while rolling her eyes. "What in God's name happened to her? She was a nice fellow," Sarah said. "Have no idea girl. She was stabbed fourteen times in the chest. Her body was already getting rotten by the time they found her. I guess the person who did it was a complete psycho... like, was once or twice not enough?" She told them while scrunching her nose towards the last part. "Damn! That's disgusting. Why would someone do that to her?" Sarah asked, as she tried to hold back the tears that were threatening to make their way out of her eyes. "Okay! That's enough disturbance for the day. I want everyone in their classes, within the next five minutes," Principal Donovan announced over the school megaphone cutting short their little gossip mission and making everyone gathered at the notice board to run towards their classes, Principal Donovan was not someone that anybody would want to mess with. Sometimes the students often wondered why he was a Principal in a high school and not enlisted in the military. ************ He watched the two vehicles parked at the school entrance. Took the cops long enough, he muttered to himself. The woods are his domain and if not for the hunter, they wouldn't have been able to find her body. Lisa McAllister? Everyone thought she was a nice and good person, but she was tainted, and he had to send her on her way to the gates of Hell to face judgment...
