Avery's Point of View The silence in the apartment after Rhett left was loud. I stayed on the kitchen floor for a long time. My hands were still shaking. I hugged my knees to my chest, trying to slow my breathing. He knew. Or, at least, he highly suspected it. I had lied to his face, but Rhett was not stupid. He saw the resemblance.
