Chapter Thirteen

As I pulled up to my house, I noticed that the living room and bedroom light was on. So I knew my husband was home, which was kinda unusual. I sat there thinking about my day. Then, all I could think about was Julian. I turned around in my seat to see if he was home, but I didn't see his car. So I grabbed my purse, and went inside.
When I walked in, I tried to close the door quietly because I thought my husband was asleep. I took off my shoes then all of a sudden..
"Leah?"
"Oh my god!!! Shawn, you-you scared me." I said holding my chest giggling.
"What are you doing up?" I asked walking over to him sitting on our couch.
"Nothing I was waiting on you. What took you so long? You usually never get home this late."
"Oh I um got kinda behind in my work today, so I stayed a little bit later to finish up a few things regarding my case."
"Hmm"
"Hmm what?"
"Since when do you get behind on your work Leah?"
"Maybe because I went out for lunch today." I said getting a little annoyed.
"Since when do you go to lunch?"
"Since when do you ask me a million questions? You never ask me how my day was, how I'm feeling, you never do anything. So what's so special about today?"
"Leah why are you getting so defensive?! Look I know I haven't been the best husband, but I do love you Leah. And I don't wanna fight with you anymore.. I want us to be like we used to be. And I'm tryi-"
"It sure doesn't seem like that's what you want! You're never home, and when you are here you act like I'm invisible. I'm the one who takes me out to eat. I'm the one who buys me nice things. I'm the one who goes on dates alone. You don't do anything! Things a husband should do, you don't do them. You treat me like I'm your worst enemy. Yeah we have good moments every once in a while, but other than that, it's pure hell. It's like I stood in that alter on February 17th, 2005 and married myself. Because it sure does feel like it. So save the bullshit." I said with tears running down my face. I got up and ran upstairs.
"Leah I'm Sorr-" I heard Shawn say. But I slammed the door before I heard anything else. I know it may seem like I blew things out of proportion, but I don't know what came over me. I've been holding all that in for so long, I just went crazy. But everything I said was true, and he knows it. I just need to talk to someone.
Then I remembered Julian gave me a card with his number on it, so I figured that's who I needed to talk to right now.
I didn't wanna talk cause I was still pretty upset, so I just texted him.
Me: Hi Julian, it's Leah.
Julian:Well hello Leah... How are you?
Me: Not so great..
Julian: Why is that?
Me: Shawn & I kinda got into an argument.
Julian: Yeah, I heard..
Me: What do you mean?
Julian: Well I sit outside every night and you know just relax, and I heard you yelling. I couldn't make out what you guys were saying, but um you guys were pretty loud.
Me: Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I didn't see your car when I came home.
Julian: So you were looking for me... How sweet
Me: Oh whatever.
Julian: Are you okay?
Me: Yeah, just had a lot of stuff to say.. Stuff I've been wanting to say for a while now. But I'm hanging in there...
Julian: Now I'm upset.
Me: Why?
Julian: I hate when you're upset Leah...
Me: It's alright. I'll be alright.
Julian: You know you don't have to go through that right?... I would treat you better. If you were mine, there would never be a day where you would be depressed, or have to question my love for you.
Me: I know..
Julian: Then why won't you let me do it?
Me: It's complicated..
Julian: Well then I'll wait... Forever if I have to...
Me: Really?
Julian: Anything for you..
Me: That's really sweet Julian...
Julian: Let me take you to breakfast in the morning.
Me: Julian that's very nice, but I have to work tomorrow.
Julian: Please, Leah?
Me: Alright, but I have to go to work as soon as we get done.
Julian: Yes Ma'm.
Me: Okay. Well get some sleep.. and I'll see you in the morning.
Julian: I won't sleep unless I know you're going to be alright.
Me: It's okay.. I'll be fine. I'll call you if I need you.
Julian: Call if you need me in ANY way possible. (;
Me: Haha okay I will.
Julian: Okay... Goodnight Beautiful.
