The hidden wife

"Oh my God, I am so sorry. Wh-what did you just say? You want a ``what?" Lily was not able to believe what she had just heard.

All these years she didn't even exist for him. Now he was not only back, but he wanted a child with her!

Was she in a parallel universe?

Or was she still dreaming?

The same man who abandoned her wanted her? This obviously didn't make any sense.

"What? You are my wife and I want to have a child with you. I think this is how the world goes. Why are you finding it so unbelievable?"

He poured himself another glass of wine and sat on the sofa in front of Lily.. He was staring at her while she was still in disbelief.

"Noah, I just want to as-ask. . . ."

Before she could complete his sentence, she noticed a change in Noah's expression, clearly showing that he was in no mood to get engaged in any conversation which made her uncomfortable. The words got stuck in her throat.

"I should get ready for work or I will be late,'' she said. That’s all she could come up with.

"Fine, I will drop you Lily."

"No, don't take any trouble. I will take the bus like I always do."

"I don't want the mother of my child to go through any discomfort. Go change."

She shook her head after all. How could she argue with him? She ran upstairs to change and then ran back downstairs in a few minutes. Noah was on a call. She couldn't help appreciating his features. His jawline was so perfect and his lips. They looked so soft. He had the smile of a devil.

Noah saw her gazing at him. She quickly turned her head away. She didn't dare to defy this man.

On their way Noah didn't bother to talk and Lily was too scared to start a conversation.

It was an hour of complete silence.

He stopped his car in front of her office.

"Thank you for dropping me."

"Have you been together with someone while I was away?"

She gently shook her head in no.

"So you are not on birth control pills."

This conversation was making her uncomfortable.

"No. . . ."

Before she could complete her sentence, he interrupted, "Good", and then drove away.

Lily kept waiting for Noah but he never came.

When her trust in him was fading he not only came back but also accepted her as his wife. If this doesn’t prove that he was made for her then what else does?

When she thought that her marriage was over she spent her First night with him!

That was all she wanted. Her dream came true. Her happy future was in front of her eyes.

The time on her watch reminded her that she has another reason to be worried.

“Oh God! I am late.”

She ran into her office as fast as she could. Though she bumped a few people on the way but she made it on time.

Phew....

The office was empty. It was Strange. Where were her colleagues?

Her friend Sara stopped her “I have some Terrible news. The company has been sold.”

Evelyn was startled “What?”

“I called you last night. I even left you a message.”

“What happened?”

“Honestly we all had an idea that this day was about to come. The shares were falling. The company went Bankrupt.”

Lily felt sick. After all, it was the only job she had. She doesn't even have a house of her own. What would she do if Noah threw her out! 

Sara tried to calm her, “I have heard that the new CEO is willing to let hardworking employees work for him. But I have also heard that he is very rude and arrogant. Everyone has gone out to greet the new CEO. I think so should we.”

She realized that they were the only ones in the office. She hurried to greet the new CEO. Obviously she didn’t want to come in the negative eye.

It was crowded downstairs. Everyone was talking about the new CEO.

“Did you know the new CEO is one of the richest people in his country? I have seen his picture. He is so hot.”

“Don’t talk like this, he is married.”

“Have you not heard that despite being married he is still in relation with his ex. He doesn't even like his wife. ”

“But you stand no chance.”

Sara turns to Evelyn “I wonder what the new CEO looks like. I bet he is handsome.”

“I don’t care.”

Evelyn was not even listening to her, she just nodded along. She was still trying to recall last night but all her efforts were in vain.

How much did she drink last night?

She hated what she had become. She used to be different. She was wondering if she should stay in this marriage or ask for a divorce after all she never got love or respect in this marriage. Noah always finds new ways to torment her.

He is punishing her for a mistake that she didn’t even make. She told him numerous times that she had no part in Jessica’s elope but still he blamed her. He never listened to her side of the story.

Every girl has some dreams about her married life and so did Lily. She knew that marrying Noah would shatter them all, she knew that he would never love her. Why will she willingly enter a marriage that is built on the pillars of hatred?

The CEO was here! Everyone closed their mouths.

The Manager went forward with a bouquet. Lily was pushed to the back by the female employees.

They were all trying to get a glimpse of the new CEO.

The High Authorities stood on the door to welcome the CEO as the Driver opened the door.

Lily tried to peep through the crowd. She saw that the man stepped out of the car. He was wearing a blue suit which fitted him perfectly.

The female colleagues were delighted at the sight. He was a snack to their eyes. They were whispering among themselves.

“Oh I saw him! Those beautiful eyes, he looks so smart, so interesting. I bet I can talk to him for hours.”

“Thank God I am wearing my favorite jeans, my ass looks hot.”

“Do you think he can tell if I am checking him out?”

“Damn why is he married?”

Lily got a sight of his hand. Oh my God, the Rolex watch! She has seen it before. Noah has one, well it is no big deal. Two people can have the same watch. 

Now she was also a little excited to see this new CEO.

She stretched her neck to look at the man's face.

“Oh my God, Noah”

Noah! What was he doing here?

The crowd gathered around him. She got on her heels to make sure that it was Noah. She wished he wasn't. It was so hard for her to tolerate him even if that was for a minute.

He was ruthless towards her. He had a heart that had nothing but hate for everyone. He manipulated her. She wanted to hate him but every time he looked at her with those devil-like eyes her heart melted. After all, she was still a girl.

Wait a minute, was he the new CEO? Oh god she wished he wasn’t.

Lily turned back to walk away but the manager called her "Lily where are you leaving?"

She stammered "Uh. . . I am feeling a little dizzy. I think I will go back home."

" No, I don't think that."

"What do you mean?"

"We are welcoming the new CEO of our company you can't leave." He hands over a bouquet to her "Take this and give it to him."

"Why me?"

"You are one of our best employees and I guess you will be his personal assistant."

"What?. . . No."

"I am not asking you Lily, I am telling you. The company is cutting down employees, if you want to work here then do what you are asked to do. Now go and welcome him."

Lily looked at the bouquet of roses. She could not afford to lose this job. Why does this always happen to her? The more she tries to run away from him, the more she gets drawn to him.

She walked near him unwillingly. He took off his shades and looked at her with his blue eyes. 

His eyes! She always gets this feeling that his eyes are trying to tell her a story.

She heard the girls gossiping among themselves about his looks. They were calling him a "Treat". Well he was a treat to the eyes. But she was getting jealous. After all, he was her husband. They never had a husband wife relationship but still.

Every girl wanted him and he knew it.

"Good morning Mr. Noah, I welcome you on behalf of our company." 

She gave him the bouquet. She was struggling to put on a fake smile on her face. Damn it was hard.

He nodded his head. At least he could have said thank you, that is the basic courtesy. But did he say? No.

"I hate him.", She said in her mind.

He put back his shades.

"Excuse me." He said as he walked past her. He paused and whispered in her ears, "I heard what you said."

She looked at him with confused eyes. All she said was a welcome, what was he talking about?

"You can hate me all you want." He smirked and walked away.

Oh yes, Noah had a special ability or we can say that he had a god's gift. He was able to read minds. This was what Lily hated the most about him.

All eyes were on her, that made her uncomfortable. 

She went to the washroom. Sara followed her.

"Oh my god." She hugged Lily.

"What happened?"

Sara’s voice gets all squeaky when she is excited "What did he say to you?"

"Nothing."

"Oh come on. He whispered something to you and earlier I saw him checking you out. I think he likes you." Sara mocked Lily.

Oh sure Noah liked Lily.

If Noah can like Lily then the sun can rise from the west, ice can burn and birds can swim.

She splashed cold water on her face ignoring Sara. She was wondering what Noah wanted from her? He knew that she worked in this company.

Sara was in her own world "Lily, tell me what do you think of him. I know all the girls are crazy about him. I just want to know what you think? And don't think like he married because according to what I have heard he is not happy in his marriage." 

Of course he is not. This marriage means nothing to him. It is Lily who is sowing the seeds of a happy future even after what he did.

"Sara, just go. I want to be alone for a while."

"What happened? Are you fine? You sound tense."

"Please just leave me alone for a while. I will talk to you later."

Sara walks out. Lily looked at herself in the mirror wondering what's wrong with her. She had a pretty face. She twisted and looked at her body. She was well made then why couldn't Noah love her. Neither of them tied the knots willingly but now they were together. Why was it so hard for him to give this marriage a shot?

She heard footsteps walking towards her. 

She knew it was Sara.

"Sara, I told you that I want to be alo.... " She turned back. Words got stuck in her throat. It was Noah. Wait a minute,did she walk in the male's washroom.

No she didn't, it was he.

" N-Noah, what are you doing here?"

"I bought this company. I can go anywhere I want."

"Yes but you can't walk in the ladies washroom."

"Oh sure I can. In fact I just did."

Lily knew that there was no point in arguing with him. She opened the door but he closed it again. She was able to feel his erection.

"Please let me go." She requested him.

"Your husband is back after so long." He grabbed her waist and pulled her closer to him "Don't you think that you should spend some quality time with me." 

He slowly slides his hand under her top. His touch sent a shiver down her bone. She was having a conflict inside her. A part of her asked her to give herself to him while the other half reminded her of what he did earlier.

He had no feelings for her, he himself told her repeatedly.

Lily knew that if she felt weak today, she would regret it all her life. She will fall in love with him again and he will not feel a thing for her again.

"What are you thinking?" He whispered in her ears.

She pushed him away. " Noah, I don't know what you are trying to do here. I just know that I don't want to be a part of your game. So just. . ."

Before she could say another he pushed her against the wall and bit her lips.

He slid his hand between his thighs and gave his femininity a tight squeeze.

"Ahh. . ." She moaned.

He shifted away from her. Without saying a word he washed his hand and walked out.

She just stood there puzzled, still trying to figure out what just happened
