Chapter 9: Telling the Truth

"Julianna, please just give me one chance?" Rebecca begged, holding Julianna's hand. "I don't know. I mean I'd love to date you, but Riley's currently in the hospital and she's your sister." Julianna replied, her gaze fixed on the floor. "I promise I'll treat you better than she treated you Julianna, I will never ever leave you like she did. I promise." Rebecca said, leaning in slowly into Julianna, "I love you Mila." She whispered before attaching her lips to Julianna's. Without hesitation, Julianna kissed back and she loved the way Rebecca held her by the waist like she's the most precious thing to her. All thoughts of Riley were washed away and all she could think of now is Rebecca, how Rebecca is holding on to her like a life line. "Will you do me the honor and be mine?" Rebecca asked, staring lovingly into chocolate brown orbs. "Yes." Julianna replied before she could take it back, not knowing that what she had just done could've been the worst decision she had ever made. "Jules, you alright?" Riley asked with concern. "I'm okay. Just tired." Julianna lied with a fake smile. Knowing not to push her girlfriend any further, she decided not to ask anymore questions. The couple sat there in silence, each doing their own things; Riley on the computer and Julianna lost in her own thoughts. She can't believe that she had agreed to being Rebecca's girlfriend. Right now, she doesn't even know what to do while dating the twin sisters behind the other's back. Sure Rebecca had the same beautiful emerald green eyes, same pretty brown locks and the same pouty lips, she still isn't Riley. There is something missing in there and she knows that it's Riley's soul and personality that's missing. "Rye, do you mind if I step out for a while? I'll be back before five." Julianna asked standing up. "Do you need me to go with you?" "It's okay babe, I'll be back soon. I love you." With that, Julianna pecked Riley on the lips and left the house, walking in the direction of Rebecca's house that isn't far away. "Hey babe, I missed you. How's your day?" Rebecca asked as she pulled Julianna into a hug. "I'm good. We need to talk Rebecca." Julianna said seriously. "What about?" "We have to break up." Julianna said, "I just can't do this anymore. I love you but Riley, she's the one I love. Yes, you're Riley's twin sister but when I'm with you I just feel that I'm missing a piece of me." "I understand Mila. I know you aren't over her." Rebecca nodded in understanding, "I wish the best for the both of you." "Thank you Rebecca." Julianna smiled enveloping the older girl in a hug. "How's my little sister doing though?" "She's feeling better nowadays, doing pretty good." Julianna replied, "A few more months and she'll be back in tip top condition." "Thanks for looking after her Mila." Rebecca said, "Well, you should go back to her now." "Bye Miche." Julianna waved and jogged down the pathway. Time to break this to Riley. ____________________________________________ "Rye?" Julianna called out softly when she opened the door to her room, seeing Riley laid down on the bed crying, "Babe, what's wrong? It's okay, I'm here." "You're back." The green eyed smiled with watery eyes, "You came back." "Of course I came back Riley. I'm not going to leave you behind. Never." She assured pulling the older girl into her arms. "You were gone for more than two hours, I thought that you were never coming back." She sniffled, snuggling into Julianna. "I would never do that silly girl." Julianna chuckled, "I love you too much to do that. Have you eaten you're medicine this afternoon?" "Not yet." 'That explains why she broke down.' Julianna thought, "I'll go get your medicine. Be right back baby, I love ya." She said placing a chaste kiss on Riley's forehead. Right after Riley ate her medicine, Julianna knew that she had to tell Riley about Rebecca before her courage fades away. "Riley, I've got something to tell you." Julianna said, sitting cross legged next to Riley. "Yeah?" "Promise me you won't freak out or get angry at me?" Julianna asked staring into green orbs for assurance. Riley nodded and Julianna took a deep breath, before spilling the beans, "I dated Rebecca for a brief while after we broke up." She admitted. The older girl say there in silence, processing what the younger girl had just said, "You dated Rebecca?" "Please don't be mad at me." Julianna whispered softly, afraid of what might come next. The girls sat in silence, neither one making a single sound. Julianna was scared to the core and she didn't know what to do or how to handle the situation. "It's okay Jules." Riley blurted out of nowhere, causing brown eyes to light up. "Really?" "I love you Jules, I understand why you dated Rebecca. Plus, we weren't dating at that time, I'm not in the position to control who you date." Riley replied, "But honestly though, who's prettier?" She joked gaining a playful smack on the arm. "Shut up." Julianna blushed red and looked up at Riley, "If you want the honest truth, it's you. You have the most amazing eyes I've ever seen, the most wonderful mind that thinks of intelligent and great things to say." Julianna whispered leaning in to Riley. "and the softest lips I've ever kissed." She trailed off as their lips connected. "Damn." Tahani exclaimed after walking in on them, "Am I missing out on something?"
