3 months and 1 week pregnant
“Dale, what’s wrong with her?” Kain asked as we sat in the doctor’s office, a couple weeks later.
I was gaining more weight fast. I broke out in a fever a couple days ago and it was still there. My belly looked like the belly of a 8 month pregnant woman. I could not walk right like I could a couple weeks ago. It hurt between my legs and I was not trying to walk at that point. I just wanted to be in bed, resting. But, Kain insisted that I go to that doctor’s appointment. Now, here I was. Sick, tired and in pain. Dale walked over to me and placed his hand on my forehead.
“How long has she had this fever?” Dale asked Kain.
“Two days.” Kain answered.
Dale looked at Kain and shook his head.
