Chapter 3

He immediately walked out on me, I stared for a few seconds before walking away. The next morning,the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was a ceiling bigger than my old bedroom. Then I remembered that it was London, but unfortunately none of it was a dream.

“Sophia, come down stares, Richard wants to have breakfast with us,” I covered the duvet over my head, now I'm about to have dinner with a couple of strangers, “Er, I hate my life.” I whispered, the one thing that terrified me most was I had to start a new school.

At the university,I immediately came down stairs, then I saw Alexander sitting on the dining table as if he owned it. I gently walked towards the table, ” Good morning mom,good morning Richard." Both mom and Richard smiled at me, but Alexander didn’t even care to look up.

He held a cup of coffee against his face, the moment I sat down he got up immediately as if he was trying to avoid me. “Alexander , are you doing too?” mom asked, he gently put down his cup of coffee from his hand, “to school.” While listening to their conversation I started eating the PB and J mom said to me, “won’t you take Sophia along?” Richard asked.

I gently raised my head up, trying not to stare at Alexander. “No dad, filex can drop her off, I don't have much time to waste.” This breeder isn’t just rude but selfish. He gently grabbed a cookie from the table and put it in his mouth. He gave me a wink before leaving. A few minutes later the sound of an engine roaring as loud as a lion echoed outside. “Don’t worry Sophia is always like this, he doesn't like people around him.” Richard said, as if I cared.

“Feilx will drop you off,” I gently nodded. I got up and turned to Mom. She gave me a gentle hug before I left. As the car stopped my eyes winded from the crowded school I noticed that everyone was wealthy, everyone seemed confident and everyone knew each other.

Meanwhile, I knew nobody! I took a few steps and suddenly I saw eyes staring at me, I could even hear them whispering and also fingers pointing directly at me. Then I overheard someone saying, “that's the new girl, the one living with Alexander Blackwood.”

“Seriously?”

That only made me uncomfortable. I clinched my textbook hard. I knew it after all I was going to feel out of place. I walked directly to my locker, eyes still staring at me, my face turned red out of embarrassment.

I open my locker with shaking hands, “you look like you're considering running away.” I turned slowly, it was a dark girl my age, she gently smiled at me, “is that obvious?” I asked.

“No, but only a little.” She replied we both laughed for a few minutes then paused, “I'm Amelia Stephen.” She brought out her hands and I gently shook her, “I'm Sohipa Hart.”

I smiled at her “shall we head to call?” I gently nodded and luckily we were both in the same class. Amelia gently took a seat beside me.

Meanwhile, at lunch me and Amelia walked to the cafeteria, then l saw a girl slowly walking towards me. She stood directly to my face, I stared back at her. “Just so we're clear,” the girl said. “Stay away from Alexander.” I blinked, “wait, what? Trust me. That's not a problem.”

“Good.” She nodded before walking away. “That was cringe.” I said , “who was that?” Amelia smiled. “That's Chloe, she is obsessed with Alexander.” I nodded surprisingly, “that's unusual,” we both laughed.

We took a seat at the cafeteria, “I really want to know more about you.” Amelia said, I smile. “Trust me you don't wanna know.” She laughed softly.

“Come on girl, what are we friends for?” I smiled then gently said, “well. I lived with an abusive father and secondly my mom got married to this guy called Richard. And thirdly I have an asshole stepbrother.”

Amelia looked surprised, “oh.. girl you've been through a lot .” I nodded cause indeed I've been through a lot, “hand me your phone.” Amelia said I stared at her. I handed it to her, still wondering what she needs my phone for.

“Here girl, my number, you can call or text anytime.” I gently smiled. Then everyone started whispering again and the noise grew louder. I slowly raised my head up and it was Alexander the golden boy of the school. The moment he stepped into the cafeteria the whole room started reacting.

Students stared, girls smiled, people moved aside. I was stunned by the attention he was getting, then Amelia stood up. Immediately following her she walked straight up to Alexander and kissed a boy standing beside him.

My eyes widened a little, he was dating a friend of his. No wonder why she wasn't scared of anyone, “hey baby.” She gently said to Luke her boyfriend.

“meet my new friend, Sophia this is Luke, Luke this is Sophia.” I gently waved, “baby can you believe her life is a mess she has an abusive father and an asshole stepbrother.” They both laughed, Alexandra immediately stared at me.

Our eyes met briefly, “s**t, oh no is your stepbrother Alex?” Amelia said smiling, “that's fucked.” I looked away out of guilt for calling him an asshole. He immediately walked away before I could look back at him.

After school, during the night I heard a motorcycle engine starting from Alexander’s garage, I curiously went down stairs then I saw him wanting to leave but before he left he noticed me then he gently said, “try not to get into trouble while I'm gone, princess.”

“Trouble?” I rolled my eyes instantly, “and tried not to crash.” His grind widened “no promises.” Without looking he sped away. I stood there watching him as he disappeared.

Then that curiosity hit me again, where was he going to by this time of the night
