020: The Unknown ✨✨✨

Marceline’s Pov:

WE WERE DISMISSED EARLY, Alpha Cana said no words to us, and the mysterious man kept his eyes trained on me all through the unusual encounter. I had managed to get through it all and we were taken to our new residence for the few days we would be in Crisan. All through our walk to the slave quarters, I thought about how random it was that Alpha Gonzalo was supposedly friends with Alpha Cana. They were nothing alike, Their kingdoms felt different as well, like the two odd sides of the coin, One was full of green vegetations and smiling faces of happy people, while Crisan felt similar to the scene after a murder, Cold, sad and scary. They were Very Very different.

Alpha Cana was a notorious leader, He was way similar to The Supreme Alpha King Lucius, It made me worry just how sinister the King would be, It was not far fetched however, legend claims Alpha Cana is a relative,. But that is hardly believed as the King was rumoured to kill all his family members after the war. The fear was still there, Alpha Cana was not a man to be messed with, I knew to stay clear and away.

The room assigned to us was in far worse condition than the dungeon we were thrown in, In Agred. It was a barely ventilated room, The room was five feet long and seven feet wide, it was extremely small and would prove had to sleep in, it could barely accommodate two people, but was expected to accommodate five. The floor looked wet and a single rat laid at the extreme corner unmoving.

“This is your room for the next two days, I would stay charge outside, No noise, no arguments and we would not have problems”. The guard from earlier said to them, He made sure they were all inside the room , before he stepped out and locked the door , The door was metal but had a little opening that allowed for air passage into the room.

“This is a prison, We are all prisoners”, Giselle hissed out a whisper. “You are finally catching up Giselle”, Delphine rolled her eyes and walked into the cubicle, she found a spot on the side and propelled her self to the ground.

“You did not just do that?”, Renée asked in disbelief, “I just did, You can not stand to sleep remember?” Renee rolled her eyes, “Whatever”.

The girls made room for their selves, Renée found a clean spot close to Delphine and settled there, while Odette and Giselle settled close to the door leaving the decaying rat space to Marceline. Marceline sighed and walked over to the spot, She chose a damp spot that was a bit far from the decaying rat but not far enough to block the stench of the decaying animal.

Anything was better than death..... SHE THOUGHT TO HERSELF.

“Thank You Marceline”, Odette said once the silence settled and the girls looked at each other.

Marceline tried to smile but her jaw hurt, “It is fine Odette, I would have done it for any of you in a heartbeat”. She said casually as she brought her knees to her face again.

“You are a good person, I wasn’t wrong about you”. Delphine said shortly after shocking them all.

“Oh really, that’s rich coming from Delphine”. Renee teased .

“Do you care for another round of arguments, Renée?”. Delphine asked tilting her self while stifling her laugh.

Odette and Giselle raise their hands mid air, “No No No, we could get killed this time”. This forced everyone to laugh out, including Marceline who could only smile.

Marceline's pain was now subtle and barely existent, Looking at the smiling ladies in front of her brought a smile to her heart as well. It meant much to her that They were going to be strong no matter the situation and find a means of happiness in their dark world.

That night the girls slept better than they had done in the past days, They came together and brought warmth to each other, in the most comfortable way they could muster.

Morning rolled in fast in Crisan, The sun was up early in the sky, It was barely Five am in the morning when the door was opened with a bang The girls opened their eyes immediately and got up on their feet.

The guard from yesterday stood in front of them with a paper that seemed to have something written on it as well.

"My name is Jared, I will assign you to positions you will be working in for the next two days".

"Good Morning Jared". The girls greeted.

"Delphine and Odette, Pig cottage", Delphine's face squeezed with disgust, Odette tried to stay neutral and unbotherd but the scrunching of her nose gave her away.

"Yes Sir", They managed to say for fear of their heads

"Giselle, The washing room, Renée the kitchen and Marceline The king's secretary". Marceline raised a brow at that, She shook her head in disbelief, She knew who that was and she despised having to know who that was, She did not want to associate herself with him at all but she already knew she had no choice in the matter, if the creepy man wanted her, he was going to get her.

"Yes Sir" . Marceline forced herself to say , She felt the bile in her throat rise and her feet shiver.

Jared took them to their respective stations, Marceline was the first to leave, She was dropped in front of The Beta's room that was heavily guarded by maids and guards who were kneeling in front of the huge door. Once she was dropped in front of the Beta's room she fell on her knees as well, unsure of what to do.

It wasn't long before the double doors opened and a tall man walked through, He walked towards Marceline and stopped right in front of her, a cheeky grin on his lips.

"I wondered when I was going to see you again".
