017: Are You Humane? ✨✨✨

It was like a rude awakening for the girls when they were thrown into the cell. It was not so sudden and was unexpected as well, but hell was it needed. The cell was oddly familiar to Marceline, It was dark, silent and eerily familiar and it reminded her of a past she had wished to forget. She stayed on the extreme end of the cell and brought her knees up, She made sure to stay on the end and stayed quiet tuning herself completely out of the commotion.

‘’You did this, If you had acted more like an Adult maybe we wouldn’t be here!!!!’’, Renee had yelled out once the silence set in, Giselle rolled her eyes and turned away, ‘’Not ready for that bullshit’’, She said in a whisper that was loud enough for anyone to hear. It did not take much long for Delphine to reply as well, finally setting in the beginning of a round three. ‘’And if you had not been so much on my case then maybe i would not have acted the way i did!!!!’’, Delphine screamed back like a little child.

Giselle hissed, and Odette turned away but not before saying, ‘’If you both want to kill yourselves then do so, Maybe that’ll solve it, But i did not risk my life all those years for you Renee to be jeopardizing your safety by arguing like a child’’. Odette left Renee speechless, Maybe Renee had expected a different reply but this was best as tears welled up in her eyes, She tried to reach for her sister, ‘’Odette’’, but Odette pulled farther away from her and settled in the corner where Marceline sat.

Renee turned back to Delphine and her eyebrows furrowed angrily, ‘’I hate you for this’’, ‘’i do not care, You do not phase me’’.... It felt never ending for a while, the arguments got louder and louder and louder and so did it become pointless by the second.

Marceline had just enough of it, Nothing prepared them for the words that came out from her mouth, ‘’I think it’s enough’’, She said calmly but their voices towered over hers and the screams got even louder, ‘’I said Shut Up!!!!’’, That did it, the dungeon became quiet and only the constant humming from Marceline became constant.. Giselle turned back surprise and Odette shifted away shocked , even she had not expected the reaction from Marceline.

‘’That’s enough!!’’, She said sternly, ‘’I do not need to know who is right, but the both of you could have killed us all today, You disrespected the authority and little kindness and warmth the Alpha had given us, now if you do not want your heads on a platter before morning i suggest you both shut up and rest’’.

Marceline took a nap right after that statement, the floor wasn’t comfortable, nothing was, but she knew she needed to rest either way. They watched as she fell asleep, she said nothing more and rested. Delphine glanced at Renee and Renee caught hold of her eyes before they both looked away as well.

‘’I am sorry Odette’’, Renee said after a while of thinking, she was exhausted and was not used to a quarrel with her sister, Odette gave her a smile before motioning towards Delphine who had gone closer to the bars. ‘’I hate being trampled upon, it’s hard and it isn’t right, there is a better way to talk to someone to correct them without belittling them,’’ Marceline opened her eyes and she immediately caught sight of the tears dripping from Renee’s eye.

‘’I do not hate you Delphine, I just wish you would admit you are wrong, You aren’t better than anyone, even Alpha Gonzalo said so, what makes us a team is not the ability of one but the ability of all, Nonetheless i apologise and i hope you see reasoning next time.’’

Renee shifted over to her sister’s side and hugged her, ‘’Do not ever say that, i do not hate you neither do i take the love you have for me for granted i was.... i was stupid’’.... Renee’s hiccups hindered her from speaking out further, She cried her eyes out and Odette made sure to console her.

Marceline trailed her eyes over to Delphine, She fidgeted with her hands and gave occasional glances at the duo, Marceline shook her head and sighed as well, She stood up from her lying position and walked over to Delphine and without warning she pulled Delphine into a hug, Delphine moved away a bit trying to resist the act but Marceline hugged her tightly ,the Not being able to pry herself away was slowly breaking her.

‘’Its okay to feel down and cry’’, Marceline said trying to calm her, but Delphine resisted shaking her head the more, ‘’It’s not Marceline, It’s hard when you are weak’’. Marceline could tell there was much more to that, but she did not press further, she only rubbed Delphine’s back and said, ‘’You now have us Delphine, you are no longer alone’’.

That was it for Delphine, She sunk into Marceline’s hands and cried her eyes out, She felt fragile and Marceline refused to let her go, she was safe in her hands. Renee had pulled away from her sister, her eyes were wet and so where her cheeks, She was no longer crying for herself but now for Delphine who was in her most fragile form.

The girls had all come together to console Delphine, They had encircled her in a hug and were whispering sweet things to her that would cheer her up. It was nice to see them all coming together for her, They knew she was now part of the little family and it was a beautiful thing to see. Delphine opened up a little to them that night and despite not going into detail, they could already understand her like an internal communication between them.

IN Delphine’s words’ ‘‘From where i came from, being strong and sharp witted wasn’t an option but a necessity, i know i may seem harsh and judgemental but i was trained to be like this, Know all and be trained for all, It is my nature, but seeing you all made me realise that i was trained to be a machine and not human, and now I want to be like you all, human’’-
