016: The Painting ✨✨✨

Marceline had gotten up early in the morning , Way before anyone had opened their eyes, She sat up and watched over the girls, They slept peacefully on the bed all cradled together somewhat suffocating poor Delphine who was like a mum to them. She smiled as she watched them, They were her sisters now and she was going to do everything in her power to protect them.

‘’That’s creepy Marceline’’, Odette said as she stretched her arms out and blinked her eyes open, Marceline raised a brow, ‘’I had not noticed that you were awake sooner’’. Odette sighed, ‘’You are always deep in thought that’s why’’, True, ‘’However the sun has risen and we should do the same as well.’’ Odette looked towards the window where she could see light.

‘’It hasn-‘’, Marceline was cut short by Odette’s sudden movement.

Without caution, Odette tapped on all the girls, Delphine woke up first and pried herself away from Giselle and Renee who had no choice but to wake up as well. Delphine looked around before pushing herself out of the bed and standing up on her feet, ‘’It is already morning, you should have woken me up sooner, No matter how friendly a master is, the slave should never misuse it, We should get dressed, We can’t be lazy!’’. Delphine said motioning to everyone to stand.

Renee sighed to herself from the bed, Her sigh was loud and it drew attention of every one including her sister whom Marceline noticed had a different look. ‘’Can you stop bossing us around?’’. Renee said calmly before getting up and stretching as well.

Delphine knitted her eyebrows, ‘’Excuse me?, I am not bossing anyone around,’’ Delphine said defensively but Renee only shook her head at her, ‘’You are, and you should stop, maybe if you weren’t so blind you would realise that the sun isn’t out yet’’, Delphine whipped her head around to take a close look at the windows and she sighed, Odette did the same and sighed as well, It wasn’t morning yet.

Renee looked at Delphine with expectation, but Delphine refused to look at her, rather she turned and left the room, ‘’Coward’’. Renee said before moving back to the bed and siting.

Odette released a huff of air and sat with her sister. ‘You did not need to call her out like that Renee’’.

Renee shook her head, ‘’No i do have to, She is a coward, anybody who cannot accept their fault is, A simple sorry will do or i would do better, but i guess she would bruise her ego if she apologised to a less smarter person’’. Renee did not dwell on the matter after that, She rather found a spot on the bed and laid back down, ‘’When the sun rises fully please wake me up Marceline.” With that she fell back asleep.

‘’I probably should go check on her’’, Giselle said getting up , but sighed and fell back on the bed, ‘’She will come around’’. Giselle closed her eyes and slept off leaving Odette and Marceline still awake.

‘’I apologise for my sister_’’, Odette was cut short when Marceline shook her head,

‘’It’s okay Odette, She was not particularly wrong, neither was Delphine’’. Marceline said as she brought the blanket up to cover The two girls. ‘’What do you mean?’’.

‘’Delphine is cautious, As each one of us should be, No matter how friendly Alpha Gonzalo and Luna Brulina are, they are still our masters and we slaves, So if we do anything wrong we could still get punished you know, But Renee was not wrong, Delphine tends to lean into her intelligence a lot, which is wise, but may sometimes come out as egotistic, She speaks to us like our mom even though technically she is the youngest, so i get that part, but i know they would be fine, You cannot expect everyone to get along, especially so soon’’.

‘’You are knowledgeable’’. Odette said nodding.

Marceline smiled and shook her head, ‘’Maybe, or i observe a lot’’. She gave a short answer, Odette did not question further as well, she only laid close to her sister and closed her eyes, ‘’Wake me up as well, Marceline’’.

‘’Sure’’. Marceline looked up to see Delphine, Delphine stood behind the door with her back turned to Marceline. Marceline lowered her head to her lap and pretended to not have seen her.

Morning rolled in fast and the girls had all woken up, All through their preparations for the day, there was a stiff air around, They had been assigned to the main kitchen were twenty other human workers like themselves worked. The five of them were given three basin full of dishes to wash and were at it when another argument broke out between the two ladies again. Again it was Delphine who childishly tried to Avoid Renee after the first argument, At first it was not noticeable but soon it was becoming visible that Delphine wanted nothing to do with Renee. Renee made sure to call her out again for her childishness.

They were rinsing the dishes after a long wash, Giselle, Odette and Delphine were in charge of rinsing while Renee and Marceline arranged the dishes in the storage. Delphine had rinsed a spoon and handed it towards Marceline, but she was busy with another dish so Renee stretched her hand to collect it, but then Delphine Retracted her hand and Renee snapped. ‘’That is childish Delphine, you can’t pass the spoon to me directly and ask Giselle to give me, really?’’. Renee said with her sharp voice but Delphine had ignored her further and dropped the spoon to the floor.

That was the borderline for Renee who threw her hands and slapped Delphine across the face, it happened so suddenly that no one could stop her in time but after the slap, Giselle rushed at her and pulled her away from Delphine, Odette tried her best to reduce the commotion but that was impossible as palace guards rushed in and pulled the five girls away. The Girls were dragged through the halls towards the dungeons were they would be punished, Marceline did not fight it, She knew she couldn’t , so she let them take her.

As they passed through the halls, Marceline noticed a huge painting of a Black Wolf not too far ahead. The wolf was dark and resembled the one she had seen in her dreams before, The more she stared at it the more intensity she felt inside her, Her stomach twisted and her heart rate increased, It was very familiar and before she was turned away from the painting, she heard a deep voice say, ‘’You are mine’’.
