This year was my parents’ turn to host Thanksgiving for my dad’s family, but since both of my mom’s parents were deceased and Mel was mom’s only sibling and Betsy’s family were a bunch of openly homophobic racist Bible-thumping cunt-monkeys, Mel and Betsy were in town for the holiday. “How’s the new job?” I asked my aunt Mel.
