Chapter Twelve – Under Lock and Key Alexander didn’t drive back to the penthouse. We’d barely pulled away from the warehouse before I realized we were heading in the opposite direction—down empty streets, away from the glittering skyline. “Where are we going?” I asked. “Somewhere no one can find you.” His voice was low, clipped. “Find me?” I said, my pulse spiking. “What about you?” His grip on the wheel tightened. “I can handle myself.
