Monday Alli woke up in the bright room. The morning sunlight streaming through the windows lit up the whole place. She looked over, surprised to find herself a little disappointed when she didn’t see Eli in bed anymore. The chair had been moved from under the adjoining room doorknob and was placed against the wall. She felt bad knowing he had seen she had blocked his door, she just hadn't been able to bring herself to lock it last night. The thought of being in a locked room was too much for her, but she wanted to feel like she could control who came into her room at night.
