Eli woke to the sound of glass shattering. He jumped from the couch and took a defensive stance as he took in his surroundings. He immediately relaxed as he saw Alli on her hands and knees in front of the sink, picking at a shattered glass.
"What happened?" He saw her flench and drop a piece of glass. He could smell the blood before he could see it. "Alli!"
Eli crouched beside her, instinctively grasping her wrist to see how badly she was cut. Alli had her eyes clenched shut and he could feel the fear radiating from her. s**t. He dropped her arm and spoke gently.
