Wednesday
Alli woke the next morning feeling awful. Her nightmares had plagued her all night. At one point she was afraid of someone (David) coming through her bedroom door, even though she kept a chair under the door handle. She ended up locking the door even though she had the irrational fear of being locked in forever.
She argued with herself for a while about telling Eli about what David had said. She decided that she had made too big of a deal out of it and he was probably just joking. Plus, she remembered how furious Leeland would get when another guy so much as looked at her while they were out and she didn’t want to give Eli a reason to be mad at her.
Alli approached the adjoining door and gave a quick knock before cracking it open.
“Good morning, beautiful.” Eli greeted her
