The air-conditioner in Gunn's van was refreshing after the suffocating air inside the warehouse.
I leaned back in my seat, momentarily closing my eyes.
"I heard Ares let Nikolai's wife and kid go. I thought he'd kill them, as the boss ordered him to. But he didn't and Ghost wasn't even pissed at him," Gunn murmured in disbelief.
I curiously sat upright, looking at him in shock. "He let them go?" I asked, hope filling my insides.
"Apparently," Gunn scoffed, keeping his gaze locked on the road. "Turns out they're not all that ruthless," he continued.
"That's a relief. Nikolai's wife and kid were innocent. We never should've involved them in this," I sighed tiredly.
"What's done is done," Gunn stated, tiredly leaning back in his chair. "What do you think about Kian's proposal?"
