Landon's Weekend Surprise

997 Words
As Harper walked into her apartment, she was greeted by the familiar smell of her home. She made her way to the kitchen, humming softly to herself, eager to relax after a long week. As she filled the kettle with water and placed it on the stove to boil, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She turned to face the living room, and that's when she saw him. Landon was sprawled out on her couch, looking entirely too at home. Harper's heart raced as she took in the sight of him. She had never expected to see him again, let alone in her own home. Landon lounged on the couch, a smirk playing on his lips as Harper walked into the room. "Well, well, look who's back," Landon drawled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "I was starting to think you'd forgotten about your humble abode." Harper rolled her eyes, but couldn't help the smile that tugged at the corners of her mouth. "Very funny, Landon," she said, making her way to the kitchen. "Can I get you anything? Tea? Coffee?" "No, I'm good, lovely," he said, using the pet name he had for her. "But I do have to chide you on your lack of awareness. I've been here for a while now and your house wards haven't been updatedin a while." Landon chuckled, sitting up and resting his elbows on his knees. "Really, Harper? You don't update your house wards in a while and you're surprised to find someone waiting for you?" Harper frowned, "I've been busy. I haven't had a chance to take care of that yet." "Well, you should be more aware of your surroundings. You never know who or what could slip in," Landon warned, his tone serious. Harper rolled her eyes, "I can handle myself, thank you very much." "I never said you couldn't. But you're a trouble magnet, Harper. And sometimes, you need a little help," Landon said with a rueful smile. Harper sighed, "I know, I know. It's just been a lot lately." "So, let me help. Let me take care of you for once," Landon offered, his eyes intense. Harper's heart skipped a beat at the offer, feeling torn between fear and desire. She didn't know how to respond and instead, simply looked away, avoiding his gaze. "M'not a trouble magnet," Harper sulks, looking away. "Really?" Landon raised an eyebrow, his tone skeptical. "You've been attacked by Jasper, not to mention the recent demon." "That was an isolated incident," Harper protested. Landon just chuckled, the teasing gleam in his eye. "If you say so, lovely." Harper tried to step back from Landon as he reached out and gently took hold of her arms. "Lovely, let me make sure you're alright," he said, his voice low and husky. "I need to check for any injuries from that demon that attacked you." Harper's heart raced as Landon's hands roamed over her body, checking for any bruises or injuries. She couldn't deny the electric spark between them, and as Landon's gaze met hers, she felt herself being drawn into his dark eyes. "Now," Landon said, his voice heavy with desire. "I do need to check you over thoroughly, make sure you're healing properly." Harper's body was on fire as Landon's hands continued to roam over her skin, sending shivers down her spine. She could feel the tension between them building, and as Landon pulled her close, she knew that the night was going to end with fireworks. As Landon closed the distance between them, Harper could feel her heart racing and her breaths becoming shallow. She was trapped between Landon and the wall, his body pressing against hers, sending shivers down her spine. Landon's eyes smoldered with a mixture of desire and amusement as he looked down at her. And then, he lowered his head and claimed her lips with a hungry kiss. Harper felt a rush of heat spread through her as Landon's tongue teased her lips, demanding entrance. She didn't resist, instead, she opened her mouth, allowing him to deepen the kiss. Landon's hands roamed over her body, pulling her even closer to him, as the kiss became more intense and passionate. Harper could feel herself melting into him, her body responding to his touch and kiss. The kiss seemed to go on forever, both of them caught up in the moment, their desire for each other overwhelming. When they finally pulled away from each other, they were both breathless and gasping for air. Harper's eyes were hazy with desire, and Landon's were smoldering with hunger. The tension between them had reached a boiling point, and they both knew it wouldn't be long until they gave in to their desire completely. The kiss was intense, and Harper felt herself being drawn into it, lost in the moment. Suddenly, Landon pulled away and asked her, "Are you hungry, lovely?" Harper was taken aback by the sudden change of subject. "Uh, what? I- I don't know. I didn't think about it," she stammered, still trying to catch her breath. Landon chuckled, "Well, let me take care of you. I'll make us dinner." He released her from his embrace and headed towards the kitchen. Harper watched in bewilderment as he began to rummage through her cabinets and refrigerator. "You don't have to do this, you know," Harper said, finally finding her voice. "I know, I want to," Landon replied, his eyes twinkling. "Besides, I love to cook. It's one of my hidden talents." Harper leaned against the kitchen counter, watching as Landon worked. It was surreal, having someone cook for her in her own kitchen. She didn't know what to make of it, but she couldn't deny that it felt nice. As they ate, they continued their conversation, the tension from earlier dissipating as they talked and laughed together. By the end of the meal, Harper was feeling more relaxed and at ease than she had in a long time.
