The Witch Pt. 3

850 Words
HARPER POV As I lay in my bed, replaying the events of my date with Alexander over in my mind, I can't shake the feeling that there is more to him than meets the eye. Alexander is a witch from a powerful coven, one that would bring immense benefit to the Rooted. I should be over the moon about this possibility, but instead, I'm left feeling uncertain. Sure, he was charming and flirty, but there was a hint of something dark and cold in his eyes that made me question his intentions. I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to him, something hidden just beneath the surface. I decided that I needed to be cautious and keep a close eye on Alexander, even though I couldn't deny the chemistry between us. Alexander was charming, funny, and attentive throughout the entire date. I found myself opening up to him in ways I never expected. But the more I think about it, the more I realize that there were moments when he seemed guarded, when he hesitated to reveal certain things about himself or his coven. I can sense that there's something he's not telling me. I can't help but wonder if it's related to the reason why he agreed to the date in the first place. Is he truly interested in me, or is there something else at play here? The political implications of our relationship are heavy and I can't help but feel like I'm being used as a pawn in some larger game. I need to find a way to get to the bottom of this. I can't let my feelings cloud my judgment, not when so much is at stake. I need to be careful and keep my eyes open, but at the same time, I can't deny the spark between Alexander and I. I can't help but feel drawn to him and I fear that I may have already fallen for him. .................................................................................................................................................................................................................. ALEXANDER POV I've always been aware of the political implications of any relationship I have within the supernatural community. And in many ways, being with Harper could bring benefits to me. I knew the potential benefits that our relationship could bring to The Rooted and The Moonlit Circle. However, I also felt a deeper connection to her, beyond just political convenience. As we sat at the picnic and talked, I couldn't help but be drawn in by her intelligence and passion. She had a fiery spirit that was both captivating and intimidating. At times, I felt like she was trying to probe me, to figure out my true intentions. I have always been a skilled politician and manipulator, but with Harper, I found myself wanting to be honest and genuine. And yet, I couldn't bring myself to fully open up to her. There were parts of my past and my coven's actions that I couldn't reveal, lest it compromise my standing in the supernatural community. As I sit alone in my chambers reflecting on my date with Harper, my thoughts turn to the political implications of our potential relationship. Being with Harper could bring me immense benefits. Ava, her sister, is a candidate for the next coven mother of The Rooted, and would be a valuable connection for me during the council selections. Additionally, being with Harper would provide me access to a new information network through her third wheel service. I picked up on her hints about unrest within the supernatural community, but I pretended to be unaware. I was surprised that Harper knows of these political dealings and I am curious to the extent of her knowledge. I must admit, I have not been completely honest with her about my motivations for our date. However, I can't deny the attraction I feel towards her. I am drawn to her intelligence, confidence, and passion. The thought of her makes my heart race. As our date progressed and the s****l tension between us rose, I couldn't help but feel a hint of something dark and cold in my own eyes. It was a reminder of the power and responsibilities that came with my position. I couldn't allow myself to become too distracted by Harper, as much as I wanted to. I wouldn't consider myself a jealous or possessive man. Harper was free to pursue other lovers and relationships, as was the norm in our community. And I myself had no plans to restrict myself to Harper alone. However, I couldn't deny that she was more suitable for me than the more powerful witches within The Rooted. The magic of The Moonlit Circle would be passed down to any children we may have, making them a force to be reckoned with. As I said goodbye to Harper, I couldn't shake the feeling that our relationship was becoming more complicated than I had initially anticipated. But I couldn't deny the attraction and potential for something real between us. I would just have to be careful and make sure to protect both of our interests as we navigate this new chapter in our lives.
