The Witch Pt.2

Alexander arrived at Harper's house and rang the doorbell. Ava answered and welcomed him inside with a warm smile. "Good evening, Alexander," Ava said cordially. "It's lovely to see you again." "Good evening, Ava. It's always a pleasure to see you," Alexander replied. Ava led Alexander to the living room, where they sat down on the couch and engaged in small talk. Ava asked him about his day and how his business was going, and Alexander asked her about her coven and the recent council meetings. As they chatted, Ava couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She knew the importance of the match between Harper and Alexander, and she wanted to ensure that everything went smoothly. "Alexander, I have to admit, I'm a bit nervous about this date," Ava said with a hint of worry in her voice. "I want to make sure that Harper and you are a good match." Alexander smiled reassuringly. "I understand your concerns, Ava. But I assure you, I have only good intentions towards Harper. I find her to be an intelligent and charming young woman, and I can see the potential for a relationship between us." Ava breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good to hear, Alexander. I truly believe that the two of you will be good for each other. And not just for the coven, but for yourselves as well." Alexander nodded in agreement. "I couldn't agree more. And who knows, maybe this date will be the start of something great for both of us." They chatted for a few more minutes about mundane things, when suddenly the door burst open and Harper rushed in. "I'm so sorry I'm late!" she exclaimed, looking a little flustered. Alexander couldn't help but smile at the sight of her. Harper was dressed in a light summer dress that brought out the violet in her eyes. Her hair was styled in loose waves that cascaded down her back, and she had a light touch of makeup that emphasized her natural beauty. "No need to apologize, I just got here," Alexander replied, offering her his arm, "Shall we go?" Harper took his arm, looking relieved, and they headed towards his car parked at the curb. As they walked away, Ava watched them go with a small smile on her face. As they walked towards Alexander's car, he couldn't help but compliment her. "You look amazing, Harper. That dress is perfect on you." Harper blushed, a smile playing on her lips. "Thank you. You're looking pretty sharp yourself." Alexander chuckled and opened the car door for Harper. "So, where would you like to go for our picnic?" "I'm up for anything," Harper replied, settling into her seat. Alexander got into the driver's seat and started the engine. "Okay, then let's see. How about we head to the park by the lake? It's a perfect night for a picnic, and we can have some privacy." "That sounds great," Harper said, looking out the window as they drove towards the park. As they drove, the conversation was light and easy. Alexander flirted with Harper, making her laugh and relax. When they finally arrived at the park, they found a quiet spot by the lake and set up their blanket. They sat down and opened the basket, taking out the food and drinks. Alexander poured them each a glass of cordial and raised his glass in a toast. "Here's to getting to know each other better." They ate and talked, delving into their interests, beliefs, and experiences. Harper was curious about Alexander and why he agreed to the date. She tried to subtly ask about the future that Michael had seen without giving anything away, but Alexander didn't seem to pick up on her hints. "Alexander," Harper said, taking a deep breath. "I want to be honest with you. I know that our relationship has political implications, and I want to understand why you agreed to this date." Alexander nodded, his expression serious. "I understand why you're asking, Harper. I am aware of the political implications of our relationship, but I also find you attractive, and I can see a relationship developing between us." Harper was surprised by his honesty, and she could feel her heart flutter. "Really? You see a future between us?" Alexander took her hand and looked into her eyes. "Yes, I do. And I think that the coven's expectations shouldn't be the only reason we're together. We should also have a connection, and I believe that we do." Harper felt a warm feeling spread through her chest. Alexander was right, and she couldn't deny the chemistry between them. She squeezed his hand and smiled. "I agree. Let's see where this takes us." Alexander and Harper sat across from each other on a blanket spread out in a secluded clearing in the woods. The stars were gleaming high above and a light breeze rustled through the trees, causing the leaves to dance and the flowers to sway. "I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised when Ava approached me about going on a date with you," Alexander said, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Really?" Harper asked, feeling a flutter in her stomach at the idea that Alexander might be interested in her. "Of course. You're smart, beautiful, and I've heard you're a skilled witch," he said, his eyes roaming over her form. "What's not to like?" "Well, thank you," Harper said, feeling a warm blush spread across her cheeks. "I've heard the same about you. You're well-respected in the coven and you're one of the most powerful witches I know." "I try my best," Alexander said, his eyes sparkling. "But enough about me, tell me more about you. What are your interests, your beliefs, and what kind of experiences have you had?" "I'm interested in learning more about the world and its history. I believe in being kind to others and helping those in need," Harper said. "As for experiences, I've travelled a bit and seen many different parts of the world, but I've also faced my fair share of challenges." "I can relate to that," Alexander said, nodding. "But, I have to ask, why did you agree to this date? Was it just to appease Ava or do you see something between us as well?" Harper hesitated for a moment before answering, "To be honest, I was conflicted about it at first. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I would regret it if I didn't take this chance." "I'm glad to hear that," Alexander said, his eyes intense as he looked at her. "I see a lot of potential in us, Harper. I think we could have something special together." "Really?" Harper asked, feeling her heart skip a beat. "Yes, really," Alexander said, his voice low and husky. He leaned in closer, his gaze never leaving her face. "I find you incredibly attractive, Harper. I can't stop thinking about you." He brushed a lock of hair behind her ear, his fingers lingering on her skin. Harper shivered at the contact, feeling a rush of excitement and anticipation. The s****l tension between them was palpable and it was clear that they were both attracted to each other. "Alexander," Harper said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Yes?" he asked, his voice just as low. "I feel the same way," she said, her eyes never leaving his. They looked at each other for a moment longer before Alexander leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. The kiss was soft and gentle at first, but quickly became more intense as their bodies pressed together. The rest of the world faded away as they lost themselves in each other, their attraction and desire for each other growing with each passing moment.
