HARPER POV
As I sit here, staring at my phone, I can't help but reflect on the past few weeks. Liam has been on my mind constantly and I can't shake this feeling that I'm being pulled in two different directions. On one hand, I can't deny the attraction I feel towards him and the chemistry we have. On the other hand, I know that he's in a committed relationship and that crossing that line would be wrong. I know I need to take control of the situation and set some boundaries before things get out of hand.

I can feel my heart pounding in my chest as I sit across Liam. I've been thinking about this conversation for days, trying to figure out the best way to approach it. I know that what I have to say is going to be difficult for both of us, but it needs to be said.
"Liam," I begin, trying to keep my voice steady, "We need to talk."
He looks up at me, his blue eyes searching mine. "What's on your mind, Harper?" he asks, a hint of concern in his voice.
I take a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. "I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I've come to realize that there's something between us. I can't deny the attraction I feel towards you, but at the same time, I can't ignore the fact that you're in a relationship. It's not fair to you or to Rose, and it's not fair to me either."
Liam's expression is unreadable, but he nods for me to continue.
"I don't want to be the third wheel in this situation, and I don't want to be the cause of any problems in your relationship. I care about you too much for that."
He leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "I understand where you're coming from, Harper," he says, his voice low. "And I appreciate your honesty. But the truth is, my feelings for you are more complicated than I ever could have imagined."
I feel a flutter in my stomach at his words. "What do you mean?" I ask, my voice barely above a whisper.
"I mean," he says, meeting my gaze, "that I care about Rose, but my feelings for you are different. Stronger. I can't ignore them, and I don't know what to do about it."
I feel my heart pounding in my chest as I take in his words. I know that what he's saying is a huge risk for him, and it's a risk for me too.
"Liam, I know this is difficult," I say, "But I need you to understand that I can't be a part of something that's going to hurt someone else. I care about you, but I care about Rose too, and I can't be the cause of any hurt or pain."
He nods slowly, his expression thoughtful. "I understand," he says, "And I respect your decision. I just wish things could be different."
"I know," I say, reaching out to take his hand in mine. "But we have to think about what's best for everyone involved."
We sit in silence for a moment, both lost in our own thoughts. I know that this conversation was difficult for both of us, but I also know that it was necessary. I care about Liam, and I want what's best for him. And right now, that means setting a boundary between us, for the sake of his relationship and our own peace of mind.

LIAM POV
As Liam drove back to the pack territory, he couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment and rejection wash over him. He had always been confident in his charm and ability to win over the object of his desire, but Harper's clear and firm boundaries had left him feeling dejected. His mind raced with a mix of emotions. On one hand, he respected her for setting boundaries and standing up for herself. On the other hand, he couldn't shake off the feeling of rejection and disappointment. Liam couldn't help but wonder if there was something he could have done differently, if hr could have convinced Harper to give them a chance.
Entering the gates and greeting the guards with a nod, Liam tried to push these thoughts out of his mind. He knew that Harper had made her decision, and he needed to respect that. But deep down, he couldn't help but feel a sense of darkness creeping in, knowing that he couldn't have the one person that he truly wanted yet.
As a supernatural creature, Liam was used to living for centuries, if not millennia. He had seen human civilizations rise and fall, and had outlived many of the people he had ever cared about. For him, a human lifespan was but a blink of an eye, and finding a companion who could understand and accept that was a rarity. Rosa was a temporary companion, and while he cared for her, he knew that one day she would age and die, while he would still be here. It was a harsh reality, but one that he had come to accept.
As Liam sat alone in his room, reflecting on his conversation with Harper, he couldn't shake off the feeling of rejection and darkness that lingered in his mind. He knew that Harper had every right to set boundaries and he couldn't fault her for that, but it didn't change the fact that he couldn't stop thinking about her. He couldn't help but wonder what could have been if she had felt the same way about him.
As an older supernatural creature, the idea of polyamory was the norm for him. He had never been one for the recent fad of one-on-one relationships that seemed to be a human construct. He had always been open to the idea of multiple partners and the idea of a long-term companion like Rosa was something that was short-lived for creatures like him who had the gift of a longer life.
He knew that Harper had a more human perspective on relationships and it was something that he couldn't change. He could only accept it and move on. But as he lay there in the dark, he couldn't shake off the feeling of longing and desire for Harper. He knew that he had to respect her boundaries but it didn't change the fact that she had become a constant thought in his mind.
This made Harper even more appealing to him. She was a witch, and therefore had a lifespan that was much longer than a human's. She would be able to understand and accept his nature, and they could be together for much longer than a human and a supernatural could. It made him even more determined to win her over, despite her rejection. He knew that it would take time, but he was patient and would wait for her to see that they were meant to be together.
