They burst through the door to the cabin, shedding coats, gloves, boots, and pants as they hurried down the hallway. He turned to her and effortlessly picked her up, so she could wrap her legs around his hips as they made their way into the main room. She leaned down and continued the kiss they had begun back out on the hill. He headed straight to the great room - the bedroom was too far away- and laid her delicately on the couch, straddling her and lowering his chest to connect to hers.
Instinctively, she arched her back to her closer up to him, pushing her breasts up into him. He groaned again and cupped one of her breasts in his hand, moving his other hand down along her waist to her hip. She clutched the back of his head with both of her hands, feeling a little dizzy from the intensity of the kiss. He shifted his hips slightly so he could lick down her neck to her belly button.
“Mmm,” she gasped, arching again.
“So beautiful,” he said, and then let his tongue lightly trace his way back up to her neck, where he delicately switched to kisses as he moved up her jawline while slipping inside her.
Her eyes opened wide and she gasped, barely able to breathe. He began slowly driving himself into her, over and over, and she moved her hips to match his movement. She sat up on her hands so she could push his face to the side with her own face and kiss him along his jawline, as he had just done for her. Reaching his ear, she sucked on the lobe, gently nipping at it with her teeth.
He shouted out, “Bella!” and exploded inside of her, as he reached his fingers down to rub against her, driving her to her own brink of explosion.
“Yes!” she shouted and with one final thrust, her entire belly exploded in tingling fireworks.
Together, they collapsed back onto the couch, panting. She contentedly traced her finger up and down his back and snuggled her tush down into the couch.
“I don’t ever want to leave,” she purred.
“We have a few minutes,” he said, rolling to his side so he could lay his head on her chest. “This is nice.”
Bella ran her fingers absently through his hair.
“It is nice,” she responded, suddenly realizing she was laying completely n***d in the middle of broad daylight in the center of the house and didn’t feel embarrassed at all. Something about her other relationships had always left her feeling self conscious and she’d always try to cover up as soon as she possibly could, but something about Jake made her feel completely comfortable. She was happy to lay there with him, just the two of them, together. They stayed there, silently, for fifteen minutes.
Finally, Jake lifted his head from her and looked her in the eyes. He leaned over and kissed her lightly on the nose.
“Ready for round two?” he asked, standing up and offering her a hand.
She looked up and down as she reached to take his hand.
“You’re not bad looking, ya know?” she said, blushing yet again.
“I guess that will have to do for me, but you are drop dead gorgeous,” he responded, tossing her b*a and shirt to her.
They quickly dressed and headed back out.
He naturally reached for her hand as they walked along the wooded path.
“To lunch?”
“Soon, but we have to make a pit stop first,” he answered. “I’ve been given a wedding errand.”
When they reached the main lobby, Jake led her to the resort gift shop again. They walked to the far side of the shop, to a long glass counter Bella hadn’t even noticed the last time she’d been in there.
“Oooh,” she exclaimed as she looked at all the shiny, beautiful pieces of jewelry under the glass.
Jake chuckled. “Uh oh. Should I not have shown you this?”
“A girl loves a little bling. Nothing wrong with that,” she said defensively.
He kissed her on the cheek. “Nothing at all.”
He turned to the woman working behind the counter, yet another new person that Bella didn’t recognize. “Do you still have it?”
The lady smiled at him and pulled out a ring of keys. “Of course, Mr. McGreen. I’ll get it right out for you.”
She carefully opened the locked glass countertop and lifted out a beautiful blue velvet box. Bella guessed by the size and shape of the box that a pair of earrings lay inside.
“Here we go,” she said, opening the box to reveal a beautiful pair of dangly, shiny blue gem stone earrings.
“Ooo, those are quite lovely!”
Jake chuckled again. “Gage asked me to pick them up, he ordered them for Jordyn to wear at the wedding. He’s giving them to her at the luncheon today.”
“Good choice,” Bella murmured, looking beneath the box at all of the other jewelry in the case below.
Jake took the box and put it in his jacket pocket. “I’m just going to grab something from the stock room,” he said, and Bella wasn’t sure if it was to her or the clerk he had spoken the words for. “I’ll be right back.”
Bella continued browsing the case, looking at the beautiful bracelets and necklaces, rings and earrings, until her eye was caught by a light green tray in the center of the shelf.
“May I please look at those?” she asked, pointing to the tray.
“Of course.”
The clerk carefully placed the tray on the glass countertop and Bella looked at each charm carefully, picking them up one by one to marvel over their tiny detail. There was a miniature silver deer, a pair of skis, a pair of skates, a snowman, a snowflake, a pine tree, and a dozen other little charms representing the lodge and the surrounding area. Bella got lost in the moment and didn’t notice when Jake walked back up to her, standing next to her at the counter.
“Do you have a charm bracelet?”
She looked up at him, startled by his sudden appearance. She glanced back down at the tiny leaf charm in her hand and returned it to its spot on the tray, hastily wiping the tears from her eyes.
“I used to. My mom actually gave it to me. But I don’t have it anymore,” she said quietly, nodding at the woman behind the counter and then walking to the exit.
Jake quickly caught up with her and took her hand in his. Bella knew that he must have understood there was more to the story, and he had to have seen her crying, but he chose to not acknowledge it and wait for her to speak about it when, and if, she was ready. Bella felt extremely grateful for that kindness, and when he squeezed her hand reassuringly, she almost burst into tears again.
“To lunch,” he said simply, in perhaps a slightly strained voice, trying to sound more boisterous than he actually felt. “I don’t know about you, but I am ravenous.”
Bella nodded, grateful again for his distraction, and grateful for the man in general.

They walked into the Atrium, yet another new room for Bella, and she was once again astonished by the sheer beauty of the space. Massive logs stretched from floor to ceiling, with crystal clear glass windows between each beam. The ceiling was also made of glass, creating a greenhouse feeling inside the beautiful room. And of course, snow, mountains, and trees were the view no matter which side you looked out.
“There’s Jordyn. Can you distract her for a minute when I get this to Gage?” Jake asked, pointing to the far side of the room.
“Mission accepted!” she said as he leaned in for a quick peck on the lips.
“That’s my girl,” he winked and the two separated.
Bella took a deep breath in and headed to Jordyn, who was standing with Jess.
“Hello ladies,” she said merrily as she approached them.
“Bella!” Jordyn squealed, jumping up and down. “I saw you out on the slopes with Jake. Isn’t he such a good teacher? Did you have so much fun? Was that your first time? Are you coming skating next?”
Bella threw her head back and laughed. “One thing at a time!”
Jess cleared her throat and Bella glanced at her.
“I’m sorry you weren’t able to participate in the activities today, Jess. Is there anything I can get for you right now?”
“Ooh, that’s so sweet of you!” Jordyn gushed.
Jess smiled a half smile. “I’m fine for now.”
“Well, let me know if there’s anything I can do for you. I’m here to help,” Bella replied.
“I can see that,” Jess said as Jake came up to join the trio of women.
“Look at that, my favorite three women in the world,” he said, wrapping his arms around Bella’s waist.
Suddenly, Carolyn appeared from nowhere and loudly cleared her throat.
“Three out of four of my favorite women, I meant, of course,” he said.
Carolyn pursed her lips and playfully swatted Jake’s arm. “Remember who gave you life,” she said jokingly, and Jake feigned a bow.
“I’d never forget,” he said, and Bella wrapped her arm around his.
“And I couldn’t possibly be more grateful to you for that,” Bella said to Carolyn. “You raised a wonderful son.”
“Aww,” Jordyn gushed, but Jess rolled her eyes .
“You’re almost impossible to be around this week,” the older sister said as she walked away. “All of you, really.”
As the small group began to disperse, Jordyn grabbed Bella by the hand.
“Bella!” she said excitedly, her ponytail bouncing up and down. “Tomorrow night is my Bachelorette Party. We are doing them two days before the wedding just in case the boys get out of control. You have to come!”
Bella glanced at Jake for confirmation, but he just shrugged. “It’s totally up to you. I will, of course, be upholding my duties as Best Man at the Bachelor Party.”
Bella’s eyebrows shot up. “Best Man? How am I just hearing about this now?”
Jake shrugged with that goofy lopsided grin of his, and Jordyn pointed a finger at his chest. “And as Best Man, you better make sure nothing does get out of control!”
Jake held his hands up in pretend surrender and backed away from Jordyn.
“My kid sister is kinda scary as a bride,” he whispered to Bella, leaning down close to her ear.
Bella smiled and squeezed his arm, very much looking forward to the next several days indeed.
