Chapter 10.
Khalid’s POV.
I sighed deeply as I quickly left my room, and went straight to the room I had laid her earlier, just to meet an empty room.
I glanced at the bed, and also met it empty.
Not only that, but I quickly turned and ordered the maid to get a guard for me.
I was shocked and scared to the extent that I couldn’t move. I froze on my spot, still looking around in shock.
“Why did she go?” I couldn’t help but ask myself.
I was still lost in thoughts that I didn’t know when the guard suddenly appeared.
“Your highness,” He called loudly, and I jolted back to reality, facing him instantly.
“You sent for me,” He added, and I nodded quickly.
“Get the rest of the guards ready, and find her now!!” I ordered, and he looked at me confusingly.
I was so worried about Megan, that I got easily pissed at that moment.
“What is it?” I asked the moment I noticed that he still stood there, probably waiting for a more detailed explanation.
“What are you waiting for?” I barked angrily and he shivered lightly.
It took me a lot to calm myself from going berserk at that moment….
I was overpowered with fear, worry, and concern for her safety.
“Your high…highness… I don’t know who you’re talking about?” He stammered and I breathed deeply.
“It’s Megan! Get the rest of the guards and look everywhere for her!” I growled, as a spark of fury ignited inside me.
“Search the nook and cranny of this pack…the forests and any hidden place you can think of,” I added, and he nodded.
“She wouldn’t have gone far…just go now!” I screamed and he jerked up quickly.
“Yes, your highness,” He bowed and quickly excused himself.
I began to pace around the room, playing with my fingers nervously, as worry was written all over my face.
“Where did she go to?” I still asked myself, without expecting any answer from any angle.
“Your highness….” A voice called, and I rolled my eyes the moment I noticed who it was.
“Yes, what’s it?” I replied coldly, without sparing the person a glance.
“I heard of what happened, can I help out?” I heard again, and this time I couldn’t help but look up.
I saw Alexis standing by my door with a sad expression, but I didn’t care about her.
“So you’ll finish what you’ve started?” I asked, and she narrowed her eyes, as her gaze tore deep into my skin.
It was obvious that she was confused, so I decided to explain it better.
“You’ll continue with killing her, since you weren’t successful in your first attempt,” I spat angrily, as I shook my head and tore my gaze from her.
“But—” She tried to say when I raised my hand, indicating she kept quiet.
I quickly looked at her, but this time, my eyes caught sight of her bandaged knees and strangely, I didn’t feel any remorse.
“Just leave me! I need to be alone!” I said tiredly, and she walked out quickly, muttering inaudible things to herself.
I rolled my eyes and sighed!
My head began to hurt as I also felt dizzy.
I quickly went towards the bed and sat quickly, with different thoughts running in my mind.
“Where was Megan?”
“Was she safe?”
“I hope none of the elders had seen her and captured her?”
I asked myself, but the last thought managed to instill fear in me.
I played with my finger nervously and wondered if the guards were doing the work.
I just couldn’t help it, but staying comfortably at home even when I was aware that Megan could probably be in danger was difficult for me.
Suddenly, I stood up sharply and exited the room.
I headed out of the mansion, ignoring all the greetings from my maids and guards, as my mind raced to where Megan could likely be at that moment.
On my way out, I saw all the guards walking back to the mansion.....
I stood still, waiting patiently for them to tell me the updates.
“Your highness….we didn’t see her,” One of the guards said, and I clenched my fists angrily.
I stared at them from head to toes with my bloodshot eyes as I walked towards them slowly.
My aura wasn’t left out as it kept on putting pressure on them…but they were quick to scamper away in fright, scattering themselves as they went towards different directions.
I facepalmed myself and decided I could look for her too, and if possible, find her myself.
I decided to run into the woods, but I got tired quickly because of the heavy burden in my heart.
Then I decided to walk, and after walking for almost an hour, I lost all hopes of ever seeing Megan again.
I knew the guards would have searched everywhere, coupled with the fact that I also tried, but she was nowhere to be seen.
My worry and fear for Megan increased because I understood wild animals lurked around this forest.
“I just hope she’s alright,” I thought silently, and turned slowly, heading back to the mansion.
“Ahhhhh,” I heard something, and I quickly turned.
I widened my eyes as I looked around in shock!
I was sure I head something, “But where did the noise come from?” I couldn’t help but ask myself.
A part of me believed that it was Megan, and so I decided to go farther into the forest to look for her.
“Megan!” I called as I ran into the forest, looking left and right for any sign of Megan.
I kept on running until I got there!
The end of the forest, and my eyes widened at what I saw.
It was Megan!
“What was happening to her?” I asked myself the moment I saw something strange happening to her.
I decided to keep calm and watch, until I was able to understand what exactly was happening to her.
“Megan was transforming!” I thought as I gasped loudly….
“So she was not a human after all?” I asked myself in surprise, as I kept on staring at her.
I noticed the shock on her face, as she was going through the transformation, and that was when I knew that this was her First Transformation.
I decided to put the questions aside, and help her out first.
“Megan!”
Without hesitation, I rushed towards her calling her name loudly, as I hoped she doesn’t fall unconscious.
Surprisingly, she managed to regain herself, and I retreated as I watched her go through the pains of the first transformation.
I was happy she had the courage to go through it because I knew how painful it was.
“Thank you, moon goddess!” I thanked her profusely for giving Megan the strength to go through the transformation process.
I watched as she was getting transformed into a wolf as a light smile crept on my lips.
“So finally, she wasn’t a human after all,” I thought excitedly, happy that I have something to hold on to and deal with the elders.
They’ve always wanted me to send her out of the pack because she was a human, so I thought about the look on their faces when I’ll eventually tell them that she was a werewolf, like every one of us.
I was surprised and shocked at this sudden discovery, and wondered if Megan knew she wasn’t a human.
Knowing fully well that she wasn’t in a right position to talk, I decided to brace up, and ask her whenever she’s normal and ready to talk.
I heard her growl, and quickly turned to glance at her when a wide smile appeared on my lips.
Her transformation was completed!
But unfortunately, she fainted, probably because she couldn’t bear the pain.
Just as she fainted, her wolf completely went berserk!!
