Chapter 12
Aaron’s POV.
I sat on a chair all alone in my large office, as my eyes darted to the clock which was hung at the corner of the office.
I yawned loudly and suddenly the stone necklace I wore on my neck glowed brightly before it broke into pieces and disappeared from my view, making me gasp in shock.
I froze on a spot as I felt my eyes widen.....
“There’s no way this could happen!” I clenched my fists tightly as I stared at the spot the pieces fell on the floor, before it disappeared.
“Where was she?”
“Who did this?” I asked no one in particular.
“So the seal has been broken?” I smirked, as I played with my fingers absentmindedly.
I didn’t need anyone to tell me that the seal I had put on my adopted daughter had been broken.
I had put the seal on her so her real self could be hidden from her, and so she doesn’t find out who exactly she was.
Just for the necklace in which I hid the seal to be broken!
“So everything I’ve hidden for years—has just been revealed,” I thought, as I gritted my teeth in deep thoughts.
“Something is about to happen,” I thought as I heaved deeply.
I was obviously bothered and confused because I felt something was about to happen!
I began to think and knew I needed to act fast.
My adopted daughter was very close to finding out who she was, and that was what I tried to avoid.
I stood and began to pace to and fro, thinking of how I could speed up things and locate her.
I quickly sat and dialed a number on the telecom, waiting patiently for someone to pick it at the receivers end.
“Hello sir,”
“Get everything ready, I’ll need a feedback immediately,” I ordered immediately he picked the call, and I heard him sigh lightly.
“Yes sir,” He responded and I hung up instantly.
I proceeded to mark some things, and go through the files my secretary submitted to me earlier.
I quickly stretched my hands and opened the drawer, before I brought out the file.
Closing the drawer, I placed the file on my table but still couldn’t understand it.
My mind was occupied with the thought of how my daughter was able to break the seal.
“Or could it be that she found out that I tried to hide the truth about herself, and decided to break it intentionally,” I thought and sighed deeply, resting my elbows on my table as I facepalmed myself.
I didn’t know what to think anymore because I sat perplexed.
I glanced at the file, but didn’t understand even a word.
I shook my head, hoping I could be able to go through the file with a calm mind, but it seemed like calmness was very far from me.
I closed my eyes and heaved deeply, before I was able to get those thoughts of my head and focus on the file before me.
After what seemed like an hour, I was done going through the file, and I quickly signed it where required.
I closed the file and slumped into my chair.
I waited patiently for my boys to come back, because I had sent hem on an errand, and prayed silently they brought back good news.
I closed my eyes slightly, and was about to force myself to sleep when a light knock on my door made me jerk up.
“Who’s there?” I sat up quickly, and comported myself, waiting for whoever it was to speak up.
“We are the ones, Master!” A voice responded and a light smile crept on my lips.
“Come in,” I ordered quickly, with a sly look on my face.
Slowly, the door opened as they walked in silently.
I glanced at their faces, just to see them wearing a cold look.
“Good evening sir,” They bowed in respect, and I hummed.
My two trusted boys who are always available to run errands for me...
“Any news?” I asked quickly and they nodded with a crumpled smile.
“Sir, we figured out something!” One of them said, and a mischievous smile played at the corner of my lips.
