~OCTOBER
I was stuck in a room all day, more like a prison cell than anything else. There was no bed, no furniture of any kind. Just me and the floor and the four walls. My father had given instructions that I was to receive no food or water until the wedding day.
My anger towards him was growing, fueled by his cruelty and my helplessness.
I had no idea when the wedding was scheduled to take place, and I didn't even know what my husband-to-be looked like. I felt completely trapped, with no way out. Just the thought of it all made my eyes sting with tears.
"We will get married," i said. I shivered at the thought, knowing that he was a vampire who couldn't control his powers. There was a very real chance that he could kill me someday, and he looked like a beast.

"Come on, come on," I heard a hideous voice calling from outside the door. I opened my eyes and was blinded by the sunlight streaming in through the window. I squinted and sat up, realizing that I had been asleep for far longer than I'd intended. My body ached all over, and my eyes felt puffy and swollen. I stood up slowly, trying to figure out what had happened.
As I stood there, wondering how long I had slept, I heard the hideous laughter again. It was coming from right outside my window. The thought hits me again
'Am getting married'
I heard the door creak open, and I turned to see my stepsisters, Anne, standing there. Her eyes were wide with excitement, and she was practically bouncing with glee. "Look who's married!" she said, her laughter grating on my nerves. "I'm so excited for you!"
I didn't know whether to be angry or afraid.
"The wedding?" I asked nervously, wondering what my stepsisters were planning.
"Oh, yes, the wedding!" Sage said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You know, the one that's happening tonight?"
I felt my stomach drop. They couldn't possibly mean what I thought they meant. I took a deep breath and tried to stay calm.
"Aren't you excited to get married?" Anne asked, patting my shoulder in a condescending way. "I mean, it's a good thing, right?"
I felt a lump in my throat, and I struggled to keep my composure. How could they be so cruel? I knew that they would never understand how I felt. They must be super excited
"I know you're probably not happy about all of this, but we've got your dress and everything ready," Anne said, her voice full of cheer. "Your hair, your face, everything is ready. We just need you to show up."
I felt like I was going to be sick. I couldn't believe they were doing this to me. I knew that there was no way out of this. I took a deep breath and tried to stay calm again.
"Come on, sister," Sage said, taking my arm and pulling me out of the room. "I've already packed your things, so we can get you ready."
It was strange to hear Sage call me "sister" after all this time. And it was clear that they had packed my things in a hurry, as if they were trying to get me out of the house as quickly as possible. I felt like a prisoner, being led to my execution. I wondered what my fate would be if I didn't go along with their plans.
"The hairdresser will be here soon," Anne said, her voice sickeningly sweet. "I made special arrangements for you, October."
I felt a knot in my stomach. I knew that whatever she had planned for me was not going to be good.
I couldn't believe that they had arranged for a hairdresser to make my hair for my wedding. I was nothing like them - I never wore fancy dresses or have expensive things. But my stepmother made me look averagely perfect for the world, so they could pretend that their adopted daughter was being taken care of. I am so powerless and frustrated, there was nothing I could do to change the situation.
"Here we are!" Anne said, her voice dripping with insincerity as she flung open the door. I gasped as I saw the wedding dress she had picked out for me - it was nothing like the simple dresses I usually wore. It was clearly meant to make me look like someone I wasn't, and I felt my frustration boil over.
"I picked it out especially for you," she cooed, her tone syrupy-sweet. "I even added flowers to make it look exactly the way you want it."
I felt a sting of tears in my eyes knowing they are making everything perfect and it's just the way they want it
"Now it's time to do your hair," Sage said, a falsely sweet smile plastered on her face. She gestured toward the door, and an old woman walked into the room. I recognized her as the family hairdresser that makes my stepsisters hair only mine has only been just the way it was, and my stomach sank.
"Please have a seat, My lady," the hairdresser said, gesturing to a chair in the corner of the room. I reluctantly sat down, feeling like a prisoner being led to the executioner's block. I took a deep breath and tried to stay calm, even as I felt the panic rising in my chest.
The hairdresser began to brush my hair, her touch light and gentle. I closed my eyes, trying to block out everything around me. But it was no use.
As the hairdresser continued to work on my hair, I couldn't help but wonder what was happening outside the room. Were people preparing for the wedding? Was the whole kingdom buzzing with excitement? And what about my betrothed - was he getting ready for the ceremony, too? I felt a knot in my stomach at the thought of meeting him for the first time.
It was just the feeling of being his bride tonight
