Chapter Six: He looks nothing like a beast

826 Words
~OCTOBER As the carriage made its way through the town, I noticed that people were hurrying about, closing up their shops and businesses for the night. It was as if the whole town was settling in for the night, and I felt like an outsider, just passing through. I wondered if I would feel like I belonged here, I also wondered if everyone outside were vampires or witches. I have never seen a vampire before am always inside or maybe they were just normal people. The carriage turned down a narrow street, and we moved slowly through the winding alleys of the town. I could see nice houses, but I still couldn't spot the castle. We moved further away from the town, and the bustling noise and activity faded away. The carriage entered a different realm, it wasn't really forested but was quiet and still. It was as if we had entered a new world, and I couldn't help but wonder why the castle was so far away from the town. Were we headed for some sort of secret, secluded location? "Mister, where are we heading?" I blurted out, my voice shaking with fear. I was starting to feel a bit panicked, not knowing where we were going or what to expect. "My Lady, please do not be afraid," he said with a reassuring smile. "The Lord's castle is far away from the town, so it takes a while to get there. But I promise we will arrive safely." I found myself relaxing a little, comforted by his gentle tone. Maybe I could trust him, after all. "But the castle should be inside the town, right?" I asked, genuinely confused. "Why is it so far away?" The carriage driver gave me a knowing look, and then he smiled. "It is the Young master castle not the royal castle." I was even more intrigued now. The young master has he's own castle? "Uhm...he... but why is it so far?" I stammered, my voice quavering. "And where exactly is the castle?" "You must be a Noble lady who lives inside the house and knows nothing about our castle"he smiled"The castle is in a dimension separate from the town," the carriage driver said, his voice soft and low. "It is home to the rich and powerful people of the town, including the ministers and other important figures." My heart started to race. What was this place, and what was I getting myself into? "There must be alot you need to know about Anghardia please trust me that we are going to the right place." He is quite right about that part, am worried if I should ask him about Hades. "Do you work for his majesty?"I asked "The Lord does not like to be referred to as a prince," the carriage driver said, his voice low and solemn. "He prefers to be called 'Young master' or 'Lord Hades.'" I was even more curious about this mysterious figure. Who was he, and what power does he hold? The carriage finally came to a stop, and I could see that we were in front of a large residence. There were no people around, and the air was deathly quiet. The only sound was the soft crackling of torches that lit up the night. I was starting to feel uneasy, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to get out of the carriage. "Please wait here for the young master," the guard said, rushing out of the carriage. He seemed nervous and fearful, and I wondered if everyone who worked for the Lord was scared of him. I sat there, my heart pounding in my chest. I wasn't sure what to expect, and I was starting to feel overwhelmed by the whole situation. I sat there, my mind racing with thoughts and questions. What was the Lord like? Would he be friendly, or would he be cruel? What would he look like? My heart was pounding, and I was feeling a mix of emotions - fear, anger, and confusion. I wasn't sure what to expect. The minutes ticked by, and I felt like I was stuck in limbo. I just wanted to get this over with. I could hear the sound of footsteps approaching, and they seemed to echo in the silence. The quiet was almost deafening, and it made the footsteps seem even louder. I wonder why it's so quiet around here I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. I adjusted my hair and dress a little Was it even necessary? I looked extraordinary than myself I held my breath as the door slowly opened. I closed my eyes, not wanting to see what was on the other side. But when I heard the door creak open, I knew I had to look. I turned and opened my eyes, my gaze settling on the figure standing in the doorway. I couldn't help but gasp at the sight of him.
