Chapter Seven: Was this what they mean?

801 Words
~OCTOBER "Ha....Hades?"Hades was tall and imposing, with broad shoulders and a muscular build. His eyes were a piercing blue, and they seemed to gaze right through me,his masculine chin was so perfect with his imposing lips and perfect face. His hair was jet black, and it fell in waves around his face. His features were sharp and defined, but there was something soft about them, too. He looked like a man who was used to getting what he wanted, but there was a gentleness about him that made me feel safe. I couldn't take my eyes off him. He was more handsome than any man I had ever seen. Everything was silent, except for the sound of our breathing or mine especially. Hades looked at me with an intensity that made me feel both nervous and intrigued. Then, he slowly reached out his hand, his palm open and facing me. I hesitated for a moment, before taking a deep breath and placing my hand in his. As soon as our hands touched, I felt a surge of energy pass through me. I couldn't help but feel a little angry at Sage and Anne. They had both painted such a negative picture of Hades, and I knew now that it wasn't true. He was so much more than the villain they had made him out to be. We stood there, our hands clasped together, for what felt like an eternity. I could feel my heart racing, and I wondered if he could feel it, too. I looked into his eyes, trying to read his expression. But his face was a mask, impossible to decipher. Hades was a perfect gentleman. He didn't say a word, but his actions spoke volumes. He led me from the carriage with such care and consideration. I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the way he carried himself. I had never met anyone like him before As I stepped out of the carriage, I was met by the sight of the castle's imposing façade. It was made of gray stone, and it seemed to rise up from the ground like a giant monolith. It had tall towers, with narrow windows that looked out over the surrounding landscape. The front doors were made of heavy oak. The whole scene was both impressive and a little intimidating. As we approached the front doors, I noticed two guards standing at attention. They bowed to us as we drew near, and then they opened the heavy doors. I stepped inside, my eyes wide with wonder and awe. I had never seen a place like this before, and I felt both nervous and excited. The entrance hall was impressive, but not gaudy. It felt more like a museum than a home, with its marble floors and statues. It was like walking into a different era, a time when things were built to last. I could imagine ancient lords and ladies strolling through the hall, their voices echoing off the walls. It was all silent. There was not a single person to be seen, not even a servant for the upcoming wedding. Was this how Hades liked his life to be, quiet and private? Or was it by his order, to make a grand entrance later? Whatever the reason, the silence was unnerving. He held my hands as we walked through the hall, but he never spoke a word. His gaze was fixed straight ahead, and his expression was unreadable. Suddenly, he let go of my hands and stopped walking. I looked up at him, my heart racing. What did this mean? Suddenly, I heard a voice say, "Welcome, welcome, welcome." I spun around, and my eyes landed on a the imposing figure. He was emerging from a large mirror, as if he had been trapped inside. My breath caught in my throat as I stared at him. Who was this man? And why was he coming out of a mirror? Hades never looked at me. His eyes were fixed on the man emerging from the mirror, and he seemed to be ignoring my presence entirely. He started walking up the stairs of the castle, his footsteps echoing in the silence. I couldn't help but feel invisible, as if I had become a ghost. Was this what they mean? "Hmmm...hmmm." The man made a noise, like a clearing of the throat, and I felt his gaze on me. I looked up, my heart pounding in my chest. "Greetings, October," the man said, his voice deep and resonant. "I am Jeffery, a royal servant of Anghardia and a loyal servant of Lord Hades." He gave a small bow, his eyes never leaving mine. I couldn't help but feel a chill run down my spine. "Hello"I bowed slightly "Call me Jeffrey" "Yes Jeffery"
