Chapter 3

~Oliver~

We was still talking, Tyra and Clarrisa are judging Tyler I can see it in their eyes which is wrong because he's not bad....not from what Azura's told me anyway, but Tyra is very sweet and timid but is also scared of 'gangsters' so it's normal I'm guessing, and Clarrisa had not long came home from fighting in war and I'm guessing that changes a person because years ago before hand she wouldn't care as such...but I guess it's the fact they both care about Azura and is afraid for her safety as a leader of a gang. 

Anyway Clarrisa is next to speak "so Karma's lead singer, our close friend AJ....is the leader of The Serpents? How did we not know about this or the cancer? Like I get how we only just found out about the cancer...but how was this never told? Even after we said no more secrets" "wait...AJ has cancer?" Tyler asks sounding surprised "afraid so" Marcus sighs, Tyler then put his head in his hands "that explains why she's looked like s**t recently" "she's been having treatment for 2 weeks now" I explain, Tyler then has a look of realisation "that also explains why she's been M.I.A for 2 weeks" Tyra then hisses "if she's your 'queen'...then why didn't you report her missing?" I'm guessing it's her fear talking as it is extremely rare for Tyra to hiss and react like that "I didn't know she's got cancer" Tyler says defensively. I can see this going south very fast so I jump in "woah let's all just calm down, AJ is injured and got rushed in as well as her twin who got shot protecting her just after Francis hopefully saved her life by pushing her out the way from the stage light that came crashing down, so tensions are high. So what AJ is 'Queen' of The Serpents, Francis who is 'King' of The Serpents is a hero along with Talia ok? We can agree on that much so let's stay calm and not fight or argue for their sakes" Tyler shrugs "you're right" Tyra huffs "annoyingly you have a point...as usual" "I just hope they're all alright" Clarrisa says with a sigh, just then a doctor walks towards us "Officer Benson? May I have a word with you please" "of course doctor" Marcus replies then walks off.

~Marcus~

Me and the doctor walk away from the group and the doctor then says "I assume you're still on duty officer?" I nod "yes I am, what's up?" I ask, the doctor then sighs and says "you may want to look into what happened and investigate it as a homicide" I knew exactly what that meant....one of them didn't make it, but which one? It's jobs like this that make me rethink about being on the force, I sigh "who didn't make it?" "Francis Cooke, I'm the doctor that was in charge. We tried everything we could but he has died" Azura will not handle this one well....I don't even know how I'm going to tell Tyler or his family....let alone Azura "ok, I'll inform his family, thank you for the update doctor" the doctor nods then turns and walks away, I go back to the group and sit down next to Tyler "Tyler that was the doctor for Francis...I have an update" "really? how is he?"  Tyler asks, I can see he is hoping it's good news which make my next words harder to say "it's with a very heavy heart I have to tell you that Francis Cooke didn't make it, he has passed away" "what? No, he...he can't be" "I'm so so sorry, I'll inform his family. I'm so sorry for your loss but remember he died a hero" Tyler has a look of despair "thanks Marcus" he says as he then walks away and leaves.

After Tyler left Oliver goes on to say "geez....that's heavy" "maybe we were too hard" Tyra says as she realises what's happened "why didn't AJ tell us she in a gang...the leader no less?" Clarrisa asks for Tyra to answer "probably the same reason she told us a fake name" "she was avoiding judgement" Oliver sighs "like the way we just badly judged Tyler which we really shouldn't of....as well as Francis who died a hero" Clarrisa says with regret clear in her voice.

About 4 hours later we're all quiet as we wait to hear about Azura and Talia, usually my shift ends 2 hours ago but I'm working over time, anyway another doctor comes up to us "Officer Benson?" I stand up "yes doctor?" "I have an update on Miss Talia Jenson, follow me" "of course doctor" I reply as me and the doctor walk away from the group down a hallway to the ICU "so Miss Talia Jenson came is with multiple shot wounds" "that is correct, what is her status?" I ask for the doctor to reply "we lost her on the table but brought her back, she is stable for now, but the next 48 hours are vital" we then arrive outside Talia's room.

When we arrive in the room I see 2 nurses and 2 other doctors, Talia is on a ventilator and has wires on her and IV lines in, I walk up closer to her "she only came out of surgery 5 minutes ago, I'm a senior doctor and also her main one whilst she's here. We had to put her in a medically induced coma because of losing her on the table, her body needs rest to try and recover, so it was the best course of action to take" "thank you doctor" I say as I stroke her hand "I'll be back when I'm off duty Tal" I whisper as I then walk back to the doctor "sorry, she's an old friend" "don't worry officer, it can be a hard sight to see even if you wasn't a close friend" "please call me or the station when she wakes up" "I will do officer, what is your number sorry?" I then start to tell the doctor my phone number.
