Chapter 21. Reveal of a Secret

“I don’t care why he changed, is there a way to change him back?” she asks him looking at the time on her phone.  “Well, they say that there is a way” he starts to walk to one of his shelves and takes down a dusty book covered with dark brown leader.  “However even if we do manage to treat him, that he will always be cursed and will most probably transform again in the future.  He will need training to help him manage his transformation” he says flapping through the pages of the book.

“Au the sins of the father or the mother will curse the blood of their kin to become a Draconian...” he reads the rest in silence as Clarise looks around, his home.

“In this case it seems that the curse might have saved his live, the monster buried deep inside of him awoke when his life was in danger.  You see humans can’t survive in the veil without some sort of protection.  You have your combined essence that protects you, but a normal human does not have that kind of protection.  When you brought him through you activated his curse forcing his monster to make a decision, let him die and it will die also or take control and save his life. “

He stands up with a sigh “It will take seventy-two hours to prepare the potion that will help him transform back”.

“Three days, that is too long!”  She falls to her knees with her hands over her eyes, she hasn’t cried this much since her mother passed away.  “What am I going to tell everyone else?”

“Come back to me three days from now and I will help you to administer his antidote” he says standing up walking to an old cabinet.

She sits there for a next couple minute watching Emrist getting herbs and other fluids ready and spreading them out on an old wooden table.  “Now go dear, it’s a long way back” he walks to the door opening it for her.  She slowly makes her way back to the zoo, once she is inside the zoo she hears familiar voices calling out to her, its Willow and James.  She takes out a bottle of water and try to rinse her face with the water not to show that she has been crying but she knows once they look into her eyes they are going to know, and they are going to know why.

“What am I going to tell them?”

She walks closer to the voices and calls out “I’m here!”

“You gave us a scare” says James in an angry voice point at her.

“What happened to you; why did you want to know about the mill and why did you come alone to this place its dangerous here?” is the first things Willow asks her while grabbing and holding her.

“I see you have dropped this” James picks up a bag, inside it is chocolate éclairs covered with white chocolate, “I kept it save from you know who” he points with his eyes and Willow.

Tyler must have brought that with him, I can’t let them know that he was with me here, she smiles and takes the bag, holding so that they can each take one, Willows hand goes first into the bag, James starts to laugh but Clarise just pulls her mouth to the one side.

“So you going to tell us, what is going on” asks James.

She tells them that she came there and wanted to explore, needing some time alone and that she had read somewhere about the waterfall but she didn’t manage to find it.  She goes and stand still and turns she looks at the entrance of an enclose Tyler please stay there, I will come back for you! I promise you! She thinks as a tear start to run down her face she quickly try to cover it with her hand but Willow can clearly see that something is bothering her.

Walking back to the city Willow whispers something into James’s ear and he starts to walk slower.  After he is behind them, she leans in and tells Clarise that she can tell her anything and that she will be there for her.  Clarise just nods her head and says thank you.

Willow also asks Clarise if she has heard anything from Tyler, she has been trying to call him but his phone is dead.  Clarise looks at her “no I haven’t heard anything from him, I think I last saw him yesterday” she replies.

The three of them arrives at aunt Bells bakery, Willow wants to get some buns to make ham sandwiches when the three of them walk in aunt Bells face lights up “ah and what are you tree up to?” she says with a big smile.  Willow makes her order and while Aunt Belle takes out some buns and place them into a paper bag she looks at Clarise “did you enjoy those éclairs that Tyler bought you?”

Clarise becomes cold as ice “oh eh no I haven’t seen him” she tries to recover” 

“But what about the …” Clarise bumps Willow with her knee before she can finish.  The two of them stare at each other.  She knows now she is in trouble as Willow give her a glare of ice.  Aunt Bell also look at the two girls standing in front of her, her eyes wonder between the two of them.

Willow walks over to James and a few moments later he says goodbye and leaves, “Clarise will you walk with me to my dad’s shop?” she looks at Clarise with a murders look in her eyes.

The two of them walks off, “I don’t like a lot of things and I can bear with secrets but what I cannot bare is someone that is lying to me!” she says grabbing Clarises shoulder and plucking her towards her.

“You are going to tell me what is going on, right now!” she says putting her index finger underneath Clarise’s nose.  Wow this is how James felt when she did it to him runs through her head as she stares into Willows eyes.

“Okay leave the food at your dad’s I need to show you something” replies Clarise.

After going to the barber shop, they go over to Clarise’s house, in her room she tells Willow to come and sit next to her on the bed.  “I have something to tell you”

“I'm all ears!” says Willow in a sarcastic way.

“No one knows this and you need to promise me you will keep it a secret?  It’s a matter of life and death” she takes Willows hand in her hand “Promise me?!”

“Okay I promise! But this better be good” replies Willow.

“After my first day of school I picked up this pendant, it allows me to have certain abilities like super powers!”

Willows eyes big and round burst out of laughter, and then stops suddenly and pushes her fist underneath Clarise’s nose” I told you I hate it when people LIE TOE ME!” she threatens her.

Clarise takes both her hands and put it on Willows fist, she lets her aura run to her hands eliminating her hands and the whole room.

Willow startled jumps up and goes and stand with her back against the wall looking at Clarise with big eyes. 

“I didn’t lie, it’s just I didn’t want to involve anyone into this situation” she stands up and walks over to Willow, she takes her hands in hers “I will never hurt you, you need to know that”

Clarise breaks the silence, she starts to talk about the pendant and about Ignus and her training.

“What you say you are the one that created that big dash in the gym?” Willow tilts her head in disbelief.

“It was an accident and I didn’t mean for it to happen.  That is why I was asking bout abandoned places.  But now, now I need your help” folding her hand into a prayer begging Willow.

She tells Willow what happened to Tyler and about Emrys and his potion.  Willow goes and sit on the corner of the bed staring in front of her.  “So, you left Tyler in the veil?” she asks.

“I didn’t have a choice I had to come back to try and find a solution to the problem, now I have a solution but also a new problem, people are going to miss him, and I don’t know what to say that is why I need your help.  Please help me?” she begs Willow.

“Okay, the main thing now is to keep calm, I'm not happy with what you did and that you didn’t trust me but we will talk about that later.  If anyone asks about him you say you don’t know, the last time you saw him was on Friday, Then Monday morning we meet behind the bakery and then we go to this druid, dude you were talking about”.

Willow stands up from her bed and takes Clarise’s hand in hers, “we will get through this and we will get him back”

The two of them sit and talk about her abilities till Willow’s dad phone her and she takes off.

The rest of the weekend Clarise stays at home, not really doing much of anything.

Monday morning Clarise gets up early, she takes out her school books and pack some food for her and Willow and also some extra if they manage to get Tyler back, he must be hungry she thought.  The whole weekend she battled against the feeling of going to try and see if he is still there but decided it would look suspicions.  She goes and wait behind the bakery for Willow.

She stands deep in thought leaning against the wall till two pairs of shoes appear in front of her, she looks up and see Willow and James standing there.  Surprised to see James she does not know what to say or what to do.  “He wouldn’t let me come alone” replies Willow looking at James.

“What did you tell him?” asks Clarise.

“Nothing just that we are going on an adventure” Willow pushes James away playfully.

The three of them start to walk down the alley towards Old Town trying to avoid line of sight from as many people as possible.  Once they reach Old Town Clarise starts to talk to James asking him to please consider to go back to school. “No I will not leave the both of you, even though I don’t know what’s happening I know that you will need me and I want to be there for you” replies James while taking the lead.

Inside Old Town Clarise takes the path that she took Saturday morning.

Once inside the zoo Clarise leads them to the enclosure where Tyler went into in the veil.  She asks both of them to sit.

She looks at James “There is things about me that you don’t know, and you are going to see things today that is going to frighten you but please remember that I will not hurt you.  And please promise me that what you see and hear today that you will keep it a secret, no one else can know about this”

Willow and James makes a pack with her.

“Okay, first I want to go see if HE, is still here!”  She steps back as her yellow, orange, and red aura start to surround her and changing into a dark purple cloak.  Willow and James become white as snow in their faces with an expression of disbelief falls over them.  She jumps and pushes herself almost looking like she is running in the air and in a couple of seconds she disappears into nothingness.

Inside the veil she moves slowly towards the entrance of the enclosure, once standing in the mouth of the enclosure she tries to peek around the corner, in the farthest corner in what looks like a type of ness she sees light shining off his beautiful scales.

She retreats slowly, once outside the entrance she moves to the realm of the living, standing inside the, outside of the enclosure James and Willow stares at her as she clears the enclosure and lands in front of them with one jump.  “How-how, did you do that?” James asks with a shiver in his voice.

“I will explain everything in time but now I’m going to ask you to stay and wait for me here, I’ll be faster if I’m alone.  And this is very urgent” she asked them politely.

She leaves them there with her backpack and start to run towards the furthest point of the zoo, once there she leaps over it like it is nothing, making her way towards the keep where Emrys lives.

When she starts to hear the water stream, she starts to change her direction towards it, from behind a tree she hears a voice “I have been expected you”.

Emrys comes walking around an old tree that have planted its roods deep into a cliff leading up the mountain “Come let’s go to your draconian”

“Are you going to come with me into the veil or will I need to bring him into this realm?”

“I will accompany you into the veil” he replies”

Once they come to the wall she jumps with one jump up onto the wall, “do you need some help” she looks down at him.  With a smirk on his face, he leaps and clears the wall with ease, “there is a lot of things you don’t know about me, but thank you for your offer” he replies, showing with his hand for her to lead the way.
