Chapter 29 Frank knocked in three rapid beats on the red door to the safe house and waited. “How can I help?” It was a reply from behind the door in Spanish. “It’s me, Feldman,” he replied, using his alias name. Several locks were unbolted until the door opened a fraction and Piper stood holding a gun pointed towards him. He glared at him and then looked at Sarah before gesturing for them both to enter. “Come on, get off the street.” Piper re-bolted the door and turned around, putting the safety back on his weapon. They stood alone in the small front room where the blinds on the two front windows were shut tight and a lamp in the corner cast a dim glow.
