38 Miranda lay in Terence’s guest bedroom but couldn’t sleep no matter how badly she needed to. Being awake for two nights and three days should have knocked her out as well. She and Terence usually got together when she came to Washington—which wasn’t all that often. She did her best to work from the Seattle office when she had to report in at all. She mostly lived out in the field or on the family island in Washington State.
