SISTER'S LOVE

205 Words
I was having a conversation with my brother about how our younger sister always gossips to him about what happens in school. He said he always listens to her even though the stories are boring, because he knows she needs someone to talk to about her experiences. But when I ask her about her day, she gives me short answers and doesn't seem to want to share much with me. When I asked her why, she said that I get irritated and angry when she tells me things, and it makes her feel like her school experiences don't matter to me. I realized that while I've been trying to protect her by discouraging her from doing things her classmates do, my approach has been having the opposite effect. My actions made her feel like her school life was unimportant to me. After hearing this, I understood that while I had good intentions, my approach was misguided. I decided to change my approach and show my sister that I care about what happens in her life, even if I don't always agree with everything she tells me. I want to be the kind of person she can come to for support and advice, no matter what.
