Chapter 28, Knowing Someone's Face but Not Their Heart
Nicola Duncan was originally looking down at some documents. Upon hearing the sound of the door opening, she casually looked up. Seeing Charlotte Violet, she clearly paused for a moment, then closed the file in her hands. Her gaze dropped, and when she looked up again, the hatred in her eyes was hidden as she said with surprise, "You, aren't you the nanny from the Ning household? Why are you here?"
As she spoke, she stepped forward and opened the door wider for Charlotte Violet. "Come in, please."
She was still so gentle and gracious. If not for what she had seen yesterday, Charlotte Violet would have only felt admiration for this woman. After all, someone so wealthy and of such high status, yet so kind and considerate, was rare.
