“No, Katelyn. This isn’t your fault. This was going to happen regardless.” Kai rolled her eyes. “Stop feeling sorry for things that happened because you didn’t realize what was going on.”

“That’s because you are,” Max drawled. Katelyn had been apologizing for the past hour and it was getting old. If circumstances were different, maybe they could all work it out, but she was only apologizing for getting them into their current situation.
