Even though I twitch the whole way, I take the path through the woods to get to the village on time. As I near the end of the path, I stop sharply. A bumblebee’s just disappeared in front of me, just like the first one I saw a few weeks back. Holding my breath, my eyes and ears search for the slightest hint something’s there, but I can’t pick up anything. There’s only one thing for it. I bolt and come out onto the pavement just a short way from the shops. It doesn’t even register for a good few moments that I’m out of the woods.
