“You’ve made your decision, then?” Attou asks me. “You really want to try freeing the First?”
“Yes, Attou,” I reply for the third time. “I’m ready. Just tell me how to do it.”
I’m lying on a bed in a small hotel not far from the hospital. As they discharged me a few hours after I came around, we had no choice but to find somewhere to lie low and discuss things seriously. The room is even smaller than the one we stayed at in Cairo, but the view of the Sphinx and the pyramids is promising.
Mum, dad and Ru are down in the dining room having dinner. They wanted me to go with them in case Bethamous tries to attack me again, but we all know that there’s nothing they can do if he does. Besides, I’m far too anxious to have much of an appetite.
