"BREAK THE GLASS"

2314 Words
The enchanted ceiling of the Great Hall was dark, and below it, the 12 long tables were lined with soldiers, some with long swords in their hand and heavy steel armour, other with nuclear guns and many ancient and modern weapons. Everyone was preparing to go out and fight the war. Every eye was fixed upon Isaac Godwin, who was speaking from the raised platform at the top of the Hall. Isaac Godwin is the son of Nicolas Godwin who was one of the founding members of Queen’s Alliance. Isaac is the Commander in charge of the army. His hair has turned white in commanding the army in the wars and this could be his toughest test of them all. Behind him stood the deputy commanders Bodin Crowder, Eliana Stanley and the members of the Queen’s Alliance who had arrived to fight. “…evacuation will be overseen by Mrs Eliana Stanley. Lords, when I give the words, you will organize your company and take your charges in an orderly fashion.” Many of them are not warriors, but working in other fields, they looked petrified as this is their first war and they had no experience at all. Amber stood up at the table and shouted; “And what if we want to stay and fight? I am not going home. I am going outside, and I am going to kick those sons of bitches ass so hard that they will feel the pain every time they wake up in the morning and will regret the day they decided to attack us.” There was a smattering of applause. “If you are not afraid of dying, you may stay,” said Isaac Godwin. Everyone was whispering and talking as they were trying to keep calm before the war. “My loving people. Many have tried in the past to breach the walls of the mirror world in the past, but all have failed.” Isaac Godwin was saying, “Soon now, we will meet another army trying to do what no one could. I am resolved, in the midst and heat of the battle, to live or die amongst you all. Let them come with the armies of hell; they will not pass! And when this day of battle is ended, we meet again in heaven or on the field of victory.” Everyone was shouting and cheering. The mood in the hall makes you think as they have already won the battle. “Well, then I guess there is only one thing left to do. Win the whole f*****g thing.” Isaac shouted with his whole power But his final words were drowned as a different voice echoed throughout the hall. It was high, cold, and clear. There was no telling from where it came. It seemed to issue from the walls themselves. Like the monster it had once commanded, it might have lain dormant there for centuries. “I know that you are preparing to fight.” There were screams amongst the warriors, some of whom clutched each other, looking around in terror for the source of the sound. “Your efforts are futile. You cannot fight me. I do not want to kill you. I have great respect for such powerful warriors of the alliance that my sister made. I do not want to spill blood.” There was silence in the hall now, the kind of silence that presses against the eardrums, that seems too huge to be contained by walls. “There is only one thing that I ask for,” said Ovi’s voice, “kneel before me and you shall not be harmed. Join my force and I shall leave the mirror world untouched. Accept me as your god and you will be rewarded.” “Ovi!” Isaac was shocked. “She was imprisoned in the parallel universe. How could she be her?” “Eva’s vision has come true.” King Andri said in a tense voice. “Eva said Ovi will bring apocalypse and we all will die.” The silence swallowed them all again. Every head turned, every eye in the placed seemed to have fixed upon the platform where all the leaders were seating. “This alliance was put together to save the humanity from her. I don’t know whether I will die or survive, but I am not going down without a try. Our ancestors have done that for centuries and now it is our turn and I am not backing down from my duty.” Steven ashwood speaks “but if anyone one wants to leave or join her then he or she is free to go.” Then a figure rose from the sorcerer table and he recognized Kasey Smith as she said. “We all have sworn to fight with you until are last breadth and we are not going to break that oath.” King Andri stepped forward on the raised platform to address those who had remained behind. “We’ve only got an hour maybe before they could break the mirror spell, so we need to act fast. A battle plan has been agreed between the leaders of the Queen’s Alliance. I, Prince Abu and Lord Brandon are going to take groups of fighters up to the three towers around the headquarter where we will have a good overview, excellent positions from which to work spells and shoot arrows. Meanwhile Steven” he indicated Lupin “Rohini” he pointed towards Master Jinglin, “and Isaac will take groups into the grounds. We will need somebody to organize the defense of the entrances or the passageways into the castle.” “Sounds like a job for us.” Called Amber, indicating herself and Oliver, and King Andri nodded his approval. “Come on Oliver we have to go and kick some asses.” “All right, leaders up here and we will divide up the troops!” Everyone inside and outside the castle was ready to attack they were all in their positions waiting for the command. Command to go mad, command to unleash the monster which was locked inside them for so long, command to kill or get killed. “They want a war I suppose.” Lord Commander of the black warriors said. “So we won’t disappoint them and give them what they want,” Ovi said in a soft tone. “Begin!” The sound of the drum beating and bugles tells that the battle has begun. The legions have taken their shapes and marching towards the castle. The interesting thing is that no one can see the castle because of the jinx that ashwood couple used to make the castle invisible to its enemy and normal people. The army of black warriors thinks of just run through the mirror and that would break it. “Tell your men to use the spell which will destroy anyone coming near the mirror,” Isaac ordered Steven All the sorcerers wave their wands in the air and said the magical words “Abracadabra” “Company forward,” The Commander shouted. The first row of the black warriors advanced towards the mirror. Their eyes were as dark as night, armour made of heaviest metal, earth started to shiver as they ran, they were monsters. They ran closer and straight into the mirror. “Bang…. Bang…” They all burned to the ground as they came in contact with the mirror world. “Yes, take that you ass holes,” Amber shouted and all of them started to cheer. Happiness came back to the alliance camp. “Impressive!” Ovi said as she herself started to go towards the mirror. “It seems that you have a well shot out plan to defeat me, but these small tricks won’t work on me guys.” She reached the mirror, but nothing happened to her. All the sorcerers were in shock. The expression on the face of Isaac tells everything. It seems that they have celebrated too early and forget who they were fighting against. She touched the mirror. The air is suddenly rent by the sound of a crack which was visible on the mirror. As the crack reached the end of the mirror gate, the whole headquarter shook, and Isaac knew, it is the start of the biggest bloodshed that the whole world would have seen in centuries as the last wall of defence is broken. “Break the glass,” Ovi said politely. “Warriors align yourself,” Isaac shouted. “Hold your ground and make these fools feel that it was their biggest mistake.” Black warriors ran into the mirror and the mirror is broken this time. The two stone gargoyles that usually guarded the entrance to the staffroom had been smashed apart by a jinx that had sailed through another broken mirror. Both the armies ran into each other. Black warriors were pounding and pummeling their defences under a beamless sky. A windstorm of fire arrows and a blizzard of spears was skirling and sizzling through the bitumen- black sky. Rohini was on fire, she teamed up with master Jinglin and was unstoppable. She used every trick and move that she has learned during her training. The dragon was out too and burning the hell out of the black warriors. Isaac was swinging his sword to the best of his abilities he was a hell of a swordsman and took more than 3 people at a time. The practice and experience of so many years were coming handy, but the army of black warriors was just too much for them there was no way that the Queen Alliance was going to win and they were badly missing their best warrior Eva. “We are going to loss Prince Abu,” Isaac said in a tense voice. As he said it, there was an explosion from overhead: both of them looked up as dust fell from the ceiling and they heard a distant scream. Scream of warriors whose bones were broken and shattered as a flood of monsters broke their lines. “What do you suggest then?” Prince Abu asked “You and the other members of the alliance should evacuate headquarter from the secret passage,” Isaac said as he killed two more with his amazing sword work. “I and my men will provide you cover to escape with your men.” “Are you out of your mind?” Prince Abu said in desperation. “We are not leaving you here to die.” “We don’t stand a chance here.” Isaac said as he trying to convince him. “You need to go back to your home, regroup with Eva and keep the Lightening stave save from her hands.” Prince Abu was not going to listen to him. “I command you to pull back and run. You said that you will take all my commands. Now it is time to fulfil your promise.” Prince Abu didn’t wanted to, but he had to listen to Isaac and started to retrieve. The plan was that all 12 members of the Queen Alliance will escape through the secret passage under headquarter and Rohini will join them and go straight to Eva to inform her. Isaac and his men started to provide cover to them so that they can run and as the walls trembled again, he led the other two back through the concealed entrance and down the tunnel into the cave. “Rohini you need to go with these guys and go straight to Eva.” Amber said, “As you meet Eva give her this, now go I have your back.” Rohini didn’t want to leave her best friend back as she knew Amber will die if she stays, but she didn’t have many choices. Rohini hurtled around a corner and found Oliver and small lot of others, including Price Abu, King Andri and Lord Brandon standing beside another empty plinth, whose statue had concealed a secret passageway. Their weapons were drawn and they were listening at the concealed hole. “Nice night for it!” Rohini shouted as the castle quaked again. The situation within headquarter had deteriorated severely: The walls and ceiling were shaking worse than ever; dust filled the air, Isaac saw bursts of green and red light so close to the foot of the castle that he knew the end is very near and saw Ovi approaching him. Isaac, Amber and Jinglin were the lone warriors standing and Isaac to started to go towards Ovi. “You are an amazing commander Isaac,” Ovi said and smiled. “I offer you to join me and I will despair your life and will make you the Lord Commander of my army.” “Your offer is very generous and only a fool would reject such kind of an offer.” Isaac replied, “But you see I was looking to retire very soon, so not interested.” Ovi drew her sword and the best fight of the battle started. A thunderous sound could be heard every time their swords were clinking and clashing under the churning sky. Everyone nearby stops fighting and were just watching one of the most epic one on one sword battle, but in the end, Ovi won and Isaac was on his knees helpless and nowhere to go. “It is such a petty that a warrior like you has to die today,” Ovi said and swing her sword to cut the head of Isaac. Amber and Jinglin followed the same fate soon and died.
