I was surprised. No, the word surprise was an understatement. I was astounded and then agitated. That was an understatement too. They shifted in front of me. It was fascinating; it happened very quickly. I saw them start sweating profusely, like they were burning.
I heard the sound of something breaking. Their bones are breaking. All of them, very quickly after one another, begin to change shape. Their muscles were tearing and mending with the shape of their bones, and their skin stretched. Fur and hair growth started to happen, and their bodies molded a new form.
I was afraid of them. "Don’t fear us, mate," they both said through mind-link. The link was also stronger than when they were in their human form. It was clear like a summer sky. I can’t block them.
