Trip Out of nowhere, Jason’s dad invites me to come along with them to their vacation home in Boston. I’ve never gone anywhere with them, so I wonder why all of a sudden I’m invited now. I don’t ask why though. Jason told me to pack enough for the weekend, so I did. Finally I don’t have to hear about it, I get to be a part of the good life Jason has when he’s not home with us. “That’s nice of him” is Ma’s response to the invite. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve actually remember seeing Jason’s dad, but I’ve never been to his house. He would come by when Jason was younger to pick him up in his big, shiny black car. Me and Ma would wait with Jason downstairs. I never saw it dirty, not even in the wintertime. He probably had newspaper on the floor of his car so no one could muddy
