Bad News Today, I really could use one of Andre’s talks. I’m actually ready to open up. I want to see what advice he has for a kid like me, with a situation like mine. I can barely focus, and my volleyball group can see it. One girl even throws a ball at me to get my attention. At noon, when the kids go eat their snack, I wait by the front desk, because I know Andre will be here soon to get our timesheets. He never shows up. Some other lady from SYEP is here instead. She does the whole sit down with each of us routine, but I don’t know her. Maybe this whole mentorship thing is bogus after all. Just something they have to do to keep their grant money.
