A number of historians now regard the treaty as a phenomenon of Ukrainian policy of the time. The Treaty of Hadiach was the name of the Ukrainian-Polish peace treaty signed on September, 16, 1658, near the town of Hadiach by Hetman I. Vyhovskyi and the government of the Polish king John II Casimir Vasa.
